  • FAT FAST

    Hi Guys, :wave

I'm still here and reading the boards and watching all your successes, tears and joy. KEEP UP ALL THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE :hug

I am thinking of doing the FAT FAST and was wondering if anyone has any advice for me, especially those who have done the Fat Fast before.

I am sticking to Atkins but i'm just not losing those lbs :yikes and think I need to give my metabolism a boost.

I really do welcome your comments/advice.
    Kind Regards

    Lou,

I've done the Fat Fast, twice -- but first I have some questions:

    when did you start?

how much did you lose during the first 2 weeks of induction?

how much do you have to lose?

      Hi hun,

I've been on this induction since 30th Dec 2004 and only lost 4lbs and NO I have not cheated once. I have lots of test by my doc cos i'm just not losing weight etc.

I have been doing ATKINS now on and off for 2 years and i lost 21 lbs during induction and i was on induction for approximately 4 months.

I am even exercising more now and still the scales don't move. :no
      Kind Regards

Sometimes the scale doesn't move, and the inches don't change; just cause some of us are slow losers.

When I did the Fat Fast I followed the instructions in DANDR to the letter, and stayed on the Fat Fast for 4 days. It broke my 9 week stall with a 4# loss. However it didn't really seem to alter my metabolism and I continue to lose weight very slowly. The second time I did the FF I didn't lose anything. Now that was FRUSTRATING

Some folks experience headaches; I did not.

Some folks are hungery; the one time I was hungry the second time I was not hungry at all.

Plan for 3 days and see how you feel before deciding to do a 4th day.

Do space your meals out, or little nibbles of the allowed items.

After the Fast Fat DO follow DANDR about upping your calories from the Fat Fast level to a modified Fat Fast. This will increase your understanding of what level of protein / fat / carbs you can intake to continue losing weight. I didn't lose at all at the modified Fat Fast levels, and instead have been continuing on induction with extra quantities of induction vegetables.

IMHO, an easier approach is to read about Candida Elimination Diet and look into following it. There's a forum for it here, and you can read about my recent success there. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...forum.php?f=85

        On another line----
So our weight loss journey is extremely slow at the moment. Getting to goal is a journey and I cannot, will not set a date for when this will happen. I know I will get there cause this is my WOE, my WOL. Just as I have to eat this way for life. I don't really see a "goal line" anymore. Cuz when I think about it............am I going to stop when I reach my "goal"? Heck no! Then I'll end up back where I started at!! See what I mean? So it's a half-pound this month, nothing last month, at least we're healthier.

Your welcome --- that's why we're all here.

The spit test does need to be done first thing in the morning before you eat or drink or brush your teeth or do anything. I don't know if a late evening test would be valid.
