Hi I've been doing induction for quite sometime now and I would like to boost my metabolisim with the fat fast. I just wanted to know what I should eat during that time period so that I do it correctly. Can anyone give me some guidlines to follow? Thanks!

how much have you lost in the 30 days? and how much do you want to lose?
The fat fast is a sort of 'last resort' thing to do as I understand it and can mess up your metabolism if you dont really 'need' it or do it right.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

You know I have been on this board for 2 years and in all that time, I don't recall anyone, anyone saying that they stayed on fatfast for over 2 days. Its difficult and its dangerous and its not for the feignt of heart. And I don't recall anyone staying that its helped them lose weight faster. 'You have to give Atkins a chance by doing induction for two weeks and then by following the program before trying something like fatfast.
If your going to do it, read the Chapter over again and see if you meet the criteria first and then ask find some folks who have been on it to tell you how it went for them first. I think you will find that your better off staying on induction, upping your exercise and maybe adding some more water first.
Sunshine its absolutely not for you as 7 pounds is great weight loss. Atkins tells us that we will lose 5 to 10 percent of what we want to lose on Induction, the first two weeks.You want to lose 30 pounds so you should have lost between 1.5 and 3 pounds during induction and you lost 7 pounds. Then Atkins promises we will lose between .5 and 1 pound a week. Anything more than that is amazing weight loss and you are doing an amazing job. Don't miss it up with things like fatfast.

7lbs in 2 weeks and you are complaining? that is a great loss when you don't have that much to lose in the first place...the fat fast isn't something you do as a quick fix. stick to what you are doing and the weight will come off.Originally posted by sunshine_gurlywhat is the "fat fast" as i think i may do this as my metabolism is extremly slow. i have only lost 7lbs in two weeks and i need to lose a lot more yet that is why i am staying on induction.

sunshine_gurly you have lost 25% of the weight you need to lose in 14 days for a super heavyweight like me to match your rate of loss I would have needed to lose 39 pounds. you are doing phenomialy well.
The fat fast is for the metabolically resistant when they have checked to make sure they are doing their Atkins correctly don't have a medical reason like candida nor hypothyroid for the no loss.
DO you meet all those criteria as listed in your DANDR? if so the fat fast is listed in chapter 20 and again Dr Atkins says it is dangerous for anyone not metabolically resisant.by the book atkinseer

Hmm, why not focus on exercise to speed up your metabolism?
For every extra pound of muscle you put on, your body uses around 50 extra calories a day. In a recent study, researchers found that regular weight training boosts basal metabolic rate by about 15%. This is because muscle is ‘metabolically active’ and burns more calories than other body tissue even when you’re not moving.
Training with weights just 3 times a week for around 20 minutes is enough to build muscle. Not only will you be burning more calories, you’ll look better – whatever your weight.
If lifting weights is not for you, then make sure you do your cardio workout, because that WILL increase your metabolism for yours afterwards.

I AGREE WITH SNORKELMAN.... MY METABOLISM WAS CRAPPY AT FIRST, AND I PURCHASED A TAE-BO DVD AND STARTED EXERCISING. I DO TAE-BO ONE DAY AND I WALK 2 MILES THE NEXT COUPLED W/ 30 MIN OF WEIGHT TRAINING. THANKS TO THAT WORKOUT COMBO I HAVE LOST 54 IN 3 MONTHS. SINCE THAT'S ABOUT 18LBS A MO-I GUESS I SHOWED MY METABOLISM WHO'S BOSS :yes
U CAN DO THIS TOO. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF WEEKS FOR IT TO KICK IN, BUT WHEN IT DID, BOY WAS IT WORTH IT.

the fat fast will not, repeat not speed up metabolism. it isn't for that at all. it is for those folk who are metabolically resistant to weight loss and will correct a problem they have getting into ketosis that is all it is designed to do noithing else. Unless you are metabolically resistant you don't need to be doing it for fast weight loss heck you could just drink water for 3 days and lose weight but uit would not be permanent weight loss nor healthy weight loss and that is what the Atkins plan on ADBB is all about.by the book atkinseer
