  • Is mayo allowed on induction? Where's 2big? *lol*

Nowhere in Chapter 11 does it mention mayonnaise and now I'm wondering if it's not acceptable fare, even though it is high fat... and the ingredients for mayo are acceptable (minus any sugars)...

    Thoughts?

    Isn't mayo considered a dressing?

Prepared salad dressings without added sugar and no more than two carbs per tablespoon serving are also fine.
BTW, this questin was posted on the Atkins site:

Where can I find sugar-free mayo?

We usually recommend regular mayonnaise (as long as it's not low-fat, which contains a negligible amount of sugar). If you want to keep your mayo absolutely sugar-free, you can make your own from scratch.
I've never had luck finding sugar free so I use Hellman's. It's not caused any problems for me, but I know everyone is different in how their body might react.

      oooohhhhhhhhhhh....

      A Dressing.....

It sounds so acceptable in that vein...

I think you're right. I know in the older Atkins books he was Mr Love-Your-Mayo-As-Yourself, so it seemed really uber-weird that he didn't mention the word "mayonnaise" in Chapter 11!

From the Acceptable Food List. In the purist form, mayonnaise is beaten eggs and oil.

Mayonnaise IS MENTIONED in Chapter 11. Just not in the list itself.

I reread the first 13 chapters last night.
