  • Will someone please check this out for me?

I finally got around to going to Fitday.com and creating an account.

Here is what today looked like for me, if some of you remember, I was concerned about the Fat/Protein/Carb ratio, and what those numbers should be. I'm a bit off kilter of the 65/30/5. :confused

    Calories Eaten Today
    source grams cals %total
    Total: 1010
    Fat: 80 721 72%
    Sat: 36 322 32%
    Poly: 8 73 7%
    Mono: 30 268 27%
    Carbs: 3 13 1%
    Fiber: 0 0 0%
    Protein: 66 265 27%
    Alcohol: 0 0 0%

This was supposed to also include a serving of Zuchinni, baked with olive oil (Zuchinni fries), but for some reason, I couldn't find Zuchinni listed in the food items. Odd. Anyway, however much Zuchinni adds to this, can someone please tell me how this looks?

These amounts and items are a pretty normal menu for my day each day, except that we are getting a bit burned out on salad, so I skipped that tonight. Normally, I ALWAYS eat a salad, even before this WOL.

This menu consisted of a boneless skinless chicken breast, baked with parmesan cheese, a serving of Zuchinni, 3 fried eggs in butter for breakfast, and 9 pepperoni slices nuked with parmesan for lunch. I counted 3 tbsp. of butter for the day, I think that's a bit high, but I fried the eggs in a bit of butter this morning, as well as dredged the chicken breast in a bit of melted butter before coating it with parmesan.

Oh, and my usual 128 oz. of WATER.

It says that I had no fiber today, hmmm, but the Zuchinni should count for that if I was able to include it in the food items, yes?

Also, I'm not sure that I understand the Fats breakdown, or where they all came from exactly.

    Thank you in advance.

REVISED: I forgot to add in my Parmesan Cheese intake.

OK, looking at this, I'm VERY concerned about the saturated fats, those are the ones that raise Cholesterol, and both of my parents died of heart disease at an early age.

I don't understand why they're so high when I'm eating from the list and only the list. :sadblinky

If you only had 1 serving of zuchinni then you are not having enough vegi. YOu need 3 cups from the list. Otherwise it looks good.

It doesn't look good to me, I'm totally depressed.

The saturated fat percentage is far too high, and I don't understand it since I thought this WOE was to embrace the GOOD fats (UNSATURATED)while yes, eating higher fat, but GOOD fats.

Saturated fat is not a good fat.

I'm wondering if this WOE is possibly just not for me with heart disease running so high in my family. :sadblinky

My suggestion would be to just modify your diet a little to cut out the saturated fat. I try to do this for myself because I have similar family history concerns. So, I would scramble the eggs and just use a non-stick skillet or some Pam, instead of butter. Or you can use egg beaters, which are a nice alternative. Also, the pepperoni has a lot of fat, so I try to cut that out. There are other snacks that are less fatty... look at the recipe board for inspiration.

Many people lower their blood pressure, lose weight, and lower choloesterol on this way of eating, and ALL of these will lower your risk of heart disease. With a little modification, you can do it!

          Good luck!

In fitday zucchini is 'squash, summer, zucchini' i get it when i do a search on zucchini? Not sure why you don't? Are you spelling it wrong perhaps? try searching 'summer squash' and see if it comes up.

Anyway...1 cup of slices, boiled, prepared with salt, according to fitday is 29 cals, 0 fat, 7 carbs, 1 protein 2g fibre. You need really should add more veggies as the others have said.

alot of people with history of heart problems are doing great on this WOE. You should get blood work done at the beginning of this and at about 6 months in to monitor your levels and make sure everything looks good. That's a good indicator of how your heart is handling this WOE.
