  • What kind of exercise do you do, and how long each day?

I bought a stationary bike after Christmas and have been trying to ride it 30 minutes a day, five days a week...I really need to increase it to 45 minutes a day..Maybe I will start doing at least 15 minutes more at night..When the weather breaks and the snow leaves, and it warms up here in New York I will start walking again..A couple of years back I walked everyday for an hour and I lost alot of weight in only a few months...Just trying to see what is working for others... :dancing

    Exercise

The most important part of exercise for me is staying interested. I only worry about hard core exercise during the week. I live on a horse farm and am busy with farm chores (moving hay, cleaning stalls, cleaning horses) during the weekend. But, during the week I enjoy lifting weights, walking on the treadmill. Lord knows I have tried to enjoy aerobics...but I HATE IT!! So, I stick with the treadmill. I am looking forward to when I loose enough weight to start horseback riding again..and then I plan to include that in my exercise!

      Exercise

I exercise 20 minutes of jogging/walking 3 days week and then 20 minutes of weight lifting 2 days week. I have a full time job as well as a business that I run after I get home from work. My lunch hour seems to be the only time I can "fit" my exercise in!

I own two companies but i still get in at least an hour a day. Cardio half hour - lift half hour. during the week. weekend is long walk or mountain biking depends on weather. Hard to bike in the snow.

I exercise at least 3-5 days a week. If i'm not taking a 2 mile walk at lunch time then i'm either exercising on my treadmill at 3.2 mph for 30 minutes or doing a Leslie Sansone exercise video. I know that i'm one that must exercise in order to lose weight. It's the one thing that I do for myself.

I do 30-45 minutes of cardio, usually fast walking, and 15-30 minutes of weight training and/or abs 5 days a week. Due to time constraints, my total workout is always 1 hour in total.

since my shifts monday to friday are split. 21/2 hours am and 2 hrs pm. after I get home and have had lunch and hopefully make sure that my bladder is empty(this is a big problem as I could go alot further but have to come home to pee). I take my dog for a 3k walk which takes about 40 minutes. He just loves it. My plan to start next week is to do a figure eight kind of thing walking the blocks around my house so that I can make a pit stop in the middle.
Also when my hubby is on afternnoon I walk about 5k to the north end of town to meet him when he's done.

I have a really hard time fitting in excercise. I know it probably seems like an excuse but I have thre kids ages8, 2, and 1. I just can not figure out how to juggle my time. Most weeks I might get to the gym twice a week. This week I have done really well though I have done 30 minutes of swimming twice this week. 20 minutes on the treadmill once. And the week is not over yet. I have a friend who is excercing with me now so hopefully this will help me to make the time. My husband also works very long hours so it is difficult for him to help me have my own time. I live in northern Maine and the snow really doesn't melt until June. Well whatever I am able to do is better than nothing right.? I did lose two pounds since Monday. I am just really tired.

I'm so excited to see that you are up and moving!

I walk 4 miles a day at an incline of 2. I burn 1000 calories. I'm not usually a person to use a treadmill, but I enjoy copious amounts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes and end up really enjoying myself.

A tip for anyone who doesn't like exercise: commit to 15 minutes. By the time you're done with them, you usually want to go for longer! Sometimes the initial stress of having to walk/bike/swim makes it seem overwhelming. So shoot for a short time, and when that time is through, see how you feel. You could make an hour without realizing it!

i go to the gym twice a day, 5 times a week

i start by doing 5 mins walking on the treadmill at incline of 9, speed of 6.5 (i think highest is 12)... then i do about 20 mins of shoulder press, bench press, leg curls, leg extensions, hip flexer, weights (i can't remember what everything is called urplequ: ) and then i end it with 30 mins of walking/running on the treadmill.

I jogg 30 minutes and walk 30 minutes but do it in 2 sessions in the morning 15minutes jogging 15 minutes walking and again in the evening.

Thinking i might invest in a treadmill but im scared ill get it and rarely use it. Will be getting my own place so will be getting some tapes too to add on.

I ride my recumbent exercise bike 6 miles a day, 7 days a week. How long depends on how fast I'm willing to peddle. Sometimes it's 20 minutes, sometimes it's 25. Probably will also incorporate walking into my routine as soon as the weather gets better here in the upper Midwest. Occasionally sneak in and use my DH's BowFlex just for the fun of it.
