Ok, I had a major flub with crystal light (was drinking it WAY too much) and then had a flub with mayo (no sugar but had high fructose corn syrup) and now I ate carrots. I'm really starting to feel like I'm never going to get the hang of this and as soon as I feel like I start to I slip up. Errrrrrr, I'm starting to get really really frustrated right now!

Re: not again...
Absolutely frusterating.. But the best thing you can do is hang on. The best of us learn through trial and error.
I hear you about the carrots. When I got sick, I thought, "Hey its a vegetable. It would be good in soup." Had NO idea that it was off the charts in sugar and carbs LoL.. so it threw me out of ketosis and I got back into it once I figured it out.
You'll get the hang of it. And coming here is excellent because there's so many people to help out. I think you're doing great so far with almost 10 pounds off!! Whatever you're doing, you're doing fine!!

Re: not again...
Thanks so much for your reply! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who slipped with the carrots. Luckily it didn't throw me out of ketosis. But then tonight with dinner I made a salad with just lettuce, cucumbers, cheese and bacon (no harm in that right) and then put some of this spray ranch that I used to live on in it. As I'm sitting there enjoying my salad I looked at the back of the bottle and sure enough sugar was one of the ingredients.
I guess this is teaching me to really LOOK at what's in stuff and not just assume that I'm good. I really want to get at least 2 solid weeks in of clean induction before I start moving. Hopefully I can get this under control soon!

Re: not again...
I ate carrots the first couple of days of induction too. Just make sure you read the book and you will get the hang of it. Even if you slip up here and there by accident, shouldn't affect your weight loss too much as long as you correct it and doesn't happen too often.Erica, 30, Female, 5'5"

Re: not again...
LoL.. Ohh Tissha
There will always be a little sugar in dressings, if you dont make them yourself. You really have to watch out for the corn syrups and things like that. Its not the best thing for you, but if they're trace amounts, it can't really hurt you unless its causing you to stall, then switch it up or construct your own dressing with olive oil and some vinegar and seasonings or something.
You'll get it, for sure. By this point, I had given up on my first time around doing Atkins. I think you're doing great and I admire you for having such respect and taking such care about what you're putting into your body. You're not an over-experienced pro yet, but at least you read your labels right away and realize your mistakes. I didnt read labels until I started to stall, and I think that hurt me in the long run.
You'll get through it. I just saw your other post about buying the book. GO YOU!!!
