Re: What can I bring to school for lunch? [[High School]]

my favorite thing to do is this-

i go to walmart and buy a bag of their frozen chicken breasts. i cook them all at once, usually baking is the fastest way to do that. that way. the night before i gotta pack a lunch, i can just whip something together really fast.

my favorite thing that is induction friendly is buffalo chicken. i LOVE buffalo chicken tenders, but its especially filling if its in a salad. i take a pre packaged bag of romaine (i get mine at sams club, its really cheap and has 11 servings a bag) and put some of my homemade ranch dressing in a seperate plastic container, then a serving of lettuce in another plastic container. then i put one of my precooked chicken breasts in a skillet on the stove, and let it heat up. when its done heating up (3-5 mins) i spoon over franks red hot wings buffalo sauce (i got it at walmart, it has zero carbs and sugar, but the generic stuff had carbs and sugar, so be careful to read the label!) but yeah, i sear in some of that sauce, then i let it cool, then i slice it up.

so far i have my salad container, dressing container, and sliced chicken. i keep the chicken seperate so it doesnt loose its heat, and toss that in my salad on a lunch break! (i keep the dressing seperate from the salad so it doesnt get too soggy, but depending on how long you have for lunch, i would say it would be ok to toss it in the night before)

the great thing about that salad is you can add things into it, like hard boiled eggs on a day where you are gonna have a lighter breakfast or a harder workout, or even some shredded cheddar cheese (mmm)

also, you dont have to just do buffalo chicken in a salad- pretty much any chicken any way you like it can go in a salad- i LOVE chicken seasoned with cajun and cumin (think smokey-spicy) with a small bit of zero carb sugar free taco sauce (taco bell! im not gonna lie, stock up on the medium heat packets!) then i just use like a mexican blend of cheese in place of cheddar!

my fiance loves cheeseburgers. he used to get them every day on break at wendys when he was at work. i put an end to that when i realized i can make a unmessy cheeseburger that he could take to work, microwave, and have that ooey gooey cheese! my secret- i use ground beef (no pre patties here!) and i take what i would normally consider to be enough for one patty, then i split that in half. i start to flatten it out (not too much) and then i have 2 semi flattened discs. hold one disc in your hand and press it into a palm (might end up looking like a small bowl) but dont flatten it too hard, or else you will get a hole! then i take things like raw onions and some of his favorite cheeses, and stuff them in that little bowl! put the other disc on top and pinch around the edges, then cook as you normally would a hamburger (be careful on a foreman, it will be really messy! i suggest stovetop or grill, microwave works if you are pressed for time but it greases you microwave up really bad)

his favorites- burgers stuffed with onions and pepperjack cheese! you can slice up your cheese into small squares and fit it into your burger that way (if u get some of the presliced like i do). its great because when you microwave it to eat it at work, it only takes 2 minutes tops to get that burger screamin hot with a nice melted cheese center! and its a million times less messy or greasy

another one of the favorites- burgers stuffed with diced roma tomatoes and mexican cheese blend, with taco sauce drizzled in the middle (tastes a lot like a taco salad!)

one of the way i spice up my burgers is i use webers spice grinders- i like the chicago steak one on my burgers. simple seasonings like fresh ground salt and fresh ground pepper on all of your protein products will certainly enhance any of their great flavors. years ago i put down the table salt and the pre ground pepper, and really my food has just been getting better and better (then again, i am obsessed with cooking and the food network. be careful watching the food network on atkins! it could be a cheat trigger for you). but perhaps you could look up a few of their shows (think sanda's semi homemade or money saving meals, those are the two most popular out right now, i personally like emril, tyler florence, and guy) and just think of something that you would like to eat from one of their shows. then google the name of that food with low carb, and viola! hunger solved!

hopefully this helped you out some!
