1 You can't do a 'cheat' day or meal. You will most likely carb/sugar binge and bloat as a result.
2 Nutrition labels lie! Almost everything has sugar; especially if it says 0 or <2% on the label. Ingredients don't lie, but they hide sugar under other names (corn syrup, high fructose cornsyrup, dextrose, maltodextrin, etc). Read your food labels and ingredients closely.
3. Soy derivitaves are second only to sugars. Food makers love sugar and soy. Who'd have thought Herbal Tea would contain soy? Argh...
4. Veggies are essential! This is a lesson I've only learned in the last seven days. The fiber in induction approved vegies provide a feeling of fullness and add variety to the menu.
5. Learn to cook! There's no getting around it. You can't trust food off the grocery store shelves. If you want to be sure you're doing a clean induction you have to cook or make your own food. For example, very few salad dressings are sugar free. Those which are are expensive. Making your own vinaigrette is cheap and easy.
6. Water Water Water! Drink plenty of it. I have a 64 oz convenience store insulated big gulper that I fill and sip on all day. I'm getting the recommended 1/2 my weight in ounces of water daily.
7. Atkins cures cravings! My family is not supporting my diet. Not that I expect them to (I'm a big boy). My house is full of cake, candy, ice cream, sodas, etc. However, I can honestly say I no longer feel tempted when I open the freezer and see chocolate ice cream staring back at me. I've watched my family eat pizza and cake and wash it down with soda without any twinge of regret or tempation. I'm finally free from SUGAR!
