  • I think I'm stalled

I'm now on week 6 of induction and I've lost 6 lbs. I began at 168 lbs and I think the exercise is what is holding me back. I haven't been exercising at all, but beginning Tuesday, I'm going to go to the gym on my lunch hour, instead of going out with the girls. I hope this helps.

I'm drinking about 80 oz water and a typical breakfast consists of eggs and bacon. Lunch is usually a salad, but today it was salmon, green beans, and caesar salad. Dinner is usually a hamburger patty and dessert is an Atkins shake. I'm takine a vitamin too. Any other suggestions?

Adding exercise is a good idea in order to do all the parts of Atkins according to the book, well done on deciding to do it now

Staying on induction for longer than the 14 days can be counterproductive if you do not have a lot of weight to lose, so you might do better by moving to OWL now.

How much weight in total are you hoping to lose and what height/gender are you? Many of us add this info to our signature block so is there to help others give more relevant advice.

Your food choices look fine to me except that many people find that using shakes regularly can stop their weightlosses. The Atkins company website used to advise people to drop the shakes and bars if they thought they were stalling them!

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Since I'm only 5'4" and weight 160, I'd love to loose 30 lbs.

I would cut out that shake too. And also start eating more carbs in form of veggies. You can do it.

In order to have the time to slowly climb the OWL carbohydrate ladder I think you oght to move on from induction.

Many people who seem to have stalled after several weeks on induction have posted that once they do start to add carbs and foods as described and in the order given that their weightlosses restart!

Do you think eating late has an adverse effect on weight? Maybe I should not eat after 6:00. Oh, btw.... I exercised on the eliptical for 30 minutes on Tuesday!!

Personally I have not found that eating late if I am hungry has affected my weightloss.
As long as you eat as much as satisfies that hunger and not so much you feel 'stuffed'.

30 minutes is great going on the elliptical - well done
