  • water....

    Hello everyone!
I have a quick question for you. I am having a REALLY hard time 1) getting all my water in and 2) drinking it without crystal light in it. I gave up a huge coke addiction (6-8 cans a day) and am really trying to only drink water but am having extreme difficulty choking it down. So, does anyone have any tips or tricks to make drinking plain water easier or any ideas on how to increase my consumption?

I've got a 32oz Nalgene bottle that goes with me wherever I go. Honestly you wouldn't believe how much I drink just from sipping on it from time to time. I'm up to about 128oz a day now that I've started Atkins.

For me, it's also easier to get a quick 8-16 oz in the morning as soon as I get up before working out.

      Re: water....

I drink a lot of it with lemon in it - that helps me. During the summer I don't sturggle at all - I like ice water and like the PP poster said I fill a bottle and keep it with me always. i have a hard time as the weather gets cold - I am a *cold* person. I drink a lot of decaf tea b/c I like the warmth and I love holding somehting warm in my hand. Hvaing tea also helps me take breaks during the tea and slow myself down - which is hard and very needed in my life! I also routinely exceed the splenda or stevia limit of 3 per day. I know...everyone can shoot me. But it doesn't stall me at all. I actually found when I gave it up for three weeks - I wasn't drinking enough and THAT gave me problems. So I stay under 5 per day for stevia or splenda and no caffiene and never nutrasweet (That stuff turns me inside out). I don't *crave* it and it doesn't make me want more or want to binge (Which used to be a problem for me). I personally feel that drinking enough is very important and if it takes splenda or stevia to do it - so be it.
