  • Xylitol???

I was in the gum isle last night and really wanted some gum but I couldn't find any made with splenda... anyone know of gum made with splenda

I did find some gum made with xylitol and was wondering what that is, and if I could have that?

and how many of my sweetener carbs are in 1 or 2 pieces of gum?

    Re: Xylitol???

Xylitol is a alcohol sugar and although it doesn't cause a spike in sugar levels, it has caloric value, albeit far less than sugar. Our liver has to break it down and digest it, which takes time, hence no blood sugar level spike. However, unlike Spelenda (Sucralose) it is not calorie free! Xylitol and Manitol are fast becoming the most popular sugar alcohols on the market now.

I would use Xylitol with caution. For example, a lot of sugarless gums are using Xylitol with Manitol and some aspertame. I would cease using splenda or other artifical sweetners while using Xylitol and see if you causes a stall.
