  • Gonna stay in induction for a while

Well, yesterday made day 14 for me. I am sure all I've done hasn't been perfect but I am trying. I will say that I haven't lost all my desire to have a piece of hubby's lemon birthday cake in there but I haven't even licked my fingers! (and boy did I want to)

I don't know if I've lost anymore since the weigh in on Sept. 6th I will know in a couple days. I am almost afraid to look. As hard as it has been to stay off the scales I am actually thinking of not weighing until the end of the month! I would love to be in the 170's the next time I weigh.

I have been collecting recipes like crazy. I think I have used up all of our ink! But I wanted to be armed with good choices and not slip out of this losing streak I was on. But lately I just don't feel like I've lost anything.
So, alas, I will stay in the induction phase for a while longer and see if that helps. My keytone test strips are still coming up in the top two darkest colors so I suppose that is a good sign.

Well, be seeing you around the extended induction forum!

Donna - you really need to weigh after the first 14 days so you can use your initial loss to discover your metabolic resistance to weightloss as per the charts in Chapter 13 in DANDR.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Gonna stay in induction for a while

I noticed your goal weight is 160 pounds - remember we are supposed to have reached the third phase of Atkins when we have our last 5-10 pounds to go, so we need to move to OWL with enough 'excess poundage' to test the rungs, find our CCLL and any trigger/staller foods.

Trying to climb the OWL carb ladder when close to goal is difficult as it is hard to know if we are still losing weight.

How many days on induction did you do before starting the challenge?

I started induction on Aug 27, weighed in on Sept 6th with 16 lbs lost.
So I haven't weighed since. Guess I should have skipped this challenge, huh.
