  • Oh, temptation...

Yesterday was one of "those days". I had to go to Publix to get some baby food and since I walked out the door there was only one thing in my mind... doughnuts Well, I said to myself: " A couple of them won't kill you Carmen, but you cannot weight yourself on Monday like you are use to..." It was a constant battle between good and evil. By the time I got to the store I walked as fast as I could without looking at the source of my dispair; grabed what I needed and some atkins bars and milk shakes.
I survived, but I really, really want something sweet to eat, even if I cannot call this "thing" cravings, because this doesn't feel like cravings anymore I keep telling myself: When you get to 170 lbs you can have just one day and eat everything that you like (without anyone knowing this, and just for one day)... It's this normal? Am I the onlyone going thru this???

    Re: Oh, temptation...

Carmen we have all had the same feelings in the beginning of our journeys. You have only been a member here since the 4th. In time these "cravings" will pass and they won't be so bad.
One of the best things about Atkins is how the AWOE is self regulating. If we eat the wrong foods or "cheat" our bodies often react in a very foul manner! Cramps, intestinal distress, gas and just plain feeling sick! After you get past induction and have success losing inches and/or pounds you won't want the same things you used to crave and the first time you "cheat" you will never want to feel that badly again.

We all came to this site to change how we look, how we feel or some other personal reason. Just trust the program, read the book, and come here for comfort, advice, and guidance when you have trouble.

It will get easier. You could wave pretty much any sugary treat under my nose and, while I might enjoy the aroma, I can pass on putting it in my mouth. It took a couple of weeks on this WOE to get to that point, though.

Were you hungry when you went to the store? Make sure you keep yourself satisfied. This is not a WOE where you need to starve yourself. And if you're full, you're less tempted.
