  • Safe to prolong induction/do high calorie Fat Fast????

    So i only want to loose about 18 more pounds. Would it be safe to stay on an induction style diet/fat fast style diet until i reach my goal? I'm still eating about 2100 calories a day but i'm keeping the fat content much higher than my protein and carbs. Please let me know! Any pointers are welcome I'm just not sure what to do.

    It might be safe but it would not be recommended here.

    To get your body used to eating the correect amount/kinds of food to be able to maintain your goal weight once reached you need to add more carbs in the order of foods suggested in DANDR, or when you reach goal you will not have established how much/what food your body can cope with and not gain weight.

    The collective experience here is that many people who stay on induction level of carbs and limited choice of foods till they reach their goal weight find that when they return to their previous way of eating they tend to regain that lost weight fairly quickly and have to start over again.

      I wouldn't go back to eating differently after i reach my goal. What i was trying to say is: Would it be ok to eat in a style similar to the fat fast (except i'm eating a "normal" amount of calories for my weight/height/lifestyle~ about 2100 right now) until i reach my goal, then start on the next phase of Atkins adding in carbs?

        Why not just follow the Atkins plan? It works and it is safe. Your body need some carbs and protein too.

          This is true...i'm prob just a little too excited to be at my goal weight since i've been loosing soooo quickly. I started Tuesday at 139 and i'm currently at 129. Thank you for the sound advice. I think i just got caught up in trying to reach my goal
