well, i finished 4 weeks on induction for a total loss of 13 pounds. not that i'm complaining, but i'm a little underwhelmed. i figured i would have been one of those who lost quite a bit more. i enjoy not being hungry and i'm not really bored with my food choices. i assumed with my body burning fat for fuel and doing high intensity interval cardio that my results would have been a bit more dramatic. i'll stick with induction for a while longer to see if i make more progress.

Re: week 4 done
Congratulations with four weeks and 13 pounds.
It may be your speed, but if you like you can post a detailed menu people will see if there are some problem items there. Also remember to drink your water every day.
Are you exercising?

Re: week 4 done
a typical daily menu is 2 scramble eggs with cheese and 3 strips of bacon/sausage links, 1 cup of coffee with 5 packets equal and 3 tbsp 1/2 and 1/2 (i've tried splenda and heavy cream in my coffee, it doesn't work for me and i'm not giving it up the way i make it) for breakfast, for lunch a salad consisting of 2 cups salad greens, cheese, 2 tbsp walden farms salad dressing, some cucumber slices, 1 or 2 cheeseburgers no bun with pickle chips, dinner is 2 italian sausages with spicy brown mustard and another cup of salad. i try to drink 64 oz of water a day. this past week i didn't ride my bike as much as i normally do but the week prior i rode quite a bit and the difference was all of .4 pounds more lost the week i rode more.

Re: week 4 done
Your menu is pretty good. Double check for sugar in the mustard and the sausage. Make sure you are not eating too much cheese.
But the area I would improve upon is the coffee and sweetener. Equal is aspartame I think -- it may be stalling you - you are only allowed three not five sweeteners -- and coffee could be another staller. The problem may be it is rushing up your bloodsugar. But I cannot make you
If you are fine with slow (and slow is not all that bad - it will take you there) that is your choice.
What if you tried cutting it out? What is the worst that could happen?

Re: week 4 done
There is no sugar listed in the ingredients in the mustard or sausage. The sausage is made in the supermarket, not prepackaged. I'm not cutting out my coffee, that's the way I drink it. I've tried it with splenda and heavy cream, it's not the same. Besides, no one got fat from drinking coffee.

Re: week 4 done
One point on the sausage; if it says on the package that it has any carbage, then somewhere it has added sugar. About every kind of sausage I find says it has 1 to 3 grams carbs per aprox 2 oz serving.
re: the coffee... the caffeine itself can spike blood sugar, has a small amount of carbs in it (! yes it does. I was surprised) and each packet of sweetener is counted as a gram. Plus you know the half & half has higher carbage than the cream, so you are rreally handicapping yourself right out of the gate, as far as speedy weightloss.
Additionally, induction ideally is used to break our addictions, so it's a missed opportunity, if you stay with the caffeine.
I like coffee. I like the smell of it, the sense of comfort a cuppa brings. I liked the psychological trip that in minutes I would be awake because I was having my coffee. BUT I weaned myself to 50/50 and then decaf...
I like sweet coffee. As in a Starbucks vanilla (or mocha
latte, or caramel machiato. BUT I weaned myself off the need to have it sweetened as well. Maybe you could try and think of it just a temporary endeavor. An experiment. Nothing is forever, really.
You sound steadfast in your determination to have your coffee that way, but if you want faster weightloss, you may want to give it a month within the recommended sweetener/cream/deecaf boundaries, and see if it picks up.
Beware the cheeeeeeese, saith I... for I am a cheese head, and I had to get a grip on the right portions of cheese.
end of my two cents.Best Regards ~Kellen

Re: week 4 done
I really don't eat that much cheese, just one slice per burger and a sprinkle in my scrambled eggs and salad. There are no carbs or sugar on the sausage ingredient list. Pork, water, salt, spices and dehydrated garlic are the only ingredients so I think I'm safe. There's some dextrose in the breakfast sausages I eat. And I count the carbs in the sweetener and 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee and still keep my carb count under 20 grams. I'm not addicted to caffeine. I choose to not give up my coffee and I'll continue to drink it how I like it. I can't honestly believe that out of my entire diet, coffee would prevent me from losing weight.

Re: week 4 done
I lost 13.8 lbs my first month, i never cheated. So i know how disappointed you are. Just keep going and it will eventually come off. I know how i hard it is to see other people losing that much during induction but everyone loses differently.25/F
