  • UK Atkineers : Kebab meat from the chippy?

    Hi all,

I know this question has a slighlty ambiguous twist to it beings as each chip shop prepares their meats differently, but I'm asking on a more general level:

Is lamb kebab from the chippy 'safe' for the carb ratio of induction?

How much carbs would you reckon there to be roundabouts a large portion?

If the lamb is generally frowned upon, what about the chicken kebab?

    Ta,

    Hi Forti,

I would say it would differ from shop to shop and as you can never actually tell how they are preparing their meat or what they are adding to it, I would stay well clear! If I don't know for sure what I am eating I steer clear! Its not worth ruining all the good work you have done for one meal!

Not helpful sorry! I just personally wouldn't trust them to use some sort of sugar or horrible preservatives!

Shame, because I love lamb kebab meat! :0(

      What about the chicken kebab?

      Same thing?

I'm looking for something enjoyable to eat out... what are the alternatives if not kebab?

cheers for the answer, btw. I figured as much, but was hoping beyond hope they'd be a more positive outcome.

You could ask them if the kebabs come with info about carbs etc on the package so you could read the ingredients and nutrition info. If they are just meat with spices they would be OK.

I always have only ever ordered chicken breast (and some gherkins) from the chip shop even before I started Atkins as I dont like batter.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
