My work just sponsored a 'health fair'. It was an unique experience. They took basic biometric statistics; height, weight, blood pressure, etc. They also did a blood draw and provided a lipid and glucose panel. Prior to starting Induction on July 29th of this year, my cholestrol was 196 and my triglycerides were borderline. When I told the people taking my measurements that I had lost 50 lbs in a matter of three months they looked at me with slacked jaws. It was awesome! They asked me what I was doing and I told them I was on Atkins Extended Induction. Of course, I was met with immediate disapproval and warnings that my cholestrol would probably be elevated as a result.
Guess what?! I made them eat their words. My cholesterol dropped 31 points to 165 and my triglycerides were 'below average'. Awesome!!! They looked at me with stunned disbelief. It was an incredible feeling. For the first time in 12 years of marriage, my cholesterol was lower than my wife's (a point she has always flaunted in my face).
Atkins is not only my new way of eating... it's my religion!!!
