  • HELP! Splenda Allergy

    Hey all,

I just learned last night, through itchy and then numb lips that I am allergic to Splenda. Aside from aspartame and stevia, what else is out there? I need some type of sweetener for my occasional herbal tea.

Saccharin is Atkins legal too... within the same "3 servings per day" limit as for Splenda, of course.

From the induction list of allowed foods

      Artificial Sweeteners
You must determine which artificial sweeteners agree with you, but the following are allowed: sucralose (marketed at Splenda®), saccharin, cyclamate, acesulfame-K. Natural sweeteners ending in the suffix "-ose," such as maltose, fructose, etc., should be avoided. However, certain sugar alcohols such as maltitol do not affect blood sugar and are acceptable.
Acesulfame-K is often listed as Aces-K or by its full name Acesulfame Potassium
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
