  • im so discouraged

    i can't handle this diet any longer. I've been doing it for the past 40 days and I just keep losing the same four pounds over and over. I am doing everything right and exercising and Im not even losing inches. I don't know what to do. I know it's supposed to be a lifestyle but if I'm not losing weight then what?
    I'm 5'7 and 167. I can't handle all this fat anymore.

    Just like to point out that I've been running everyday for about 20mins on an intensity of about 5.4 mph.

      It can be frustrating. I've been on and off induction for months now. I attempt to cheat to jumpstart my weightloss and sometimes it helps. I'm not advising you to do so, i'm just saying it's an option. It breaks my stalls.

      Are you eating any low carb treats that might stall you?

        i just ate one yesterday but that's it just because I was discouraged. I have been so good up until yesterday. Maybe I should lower my fat intake

          why don't you post a menu listing everything that goes into your mouth (including what you are drinking) and let the experts look it over. We are all here to help you!

            so far today I ate the cheese off of a pizza at lunch and had about 8 slices of cucumbers with some ranch dressing.

                you need to eat to get your metabolism going. Didi you know after you eat your body knowing it got fuel will automatically increase your metabolic rate from where it was before you ate?

                @0 min isn't a lot of exercise it is the bare minium level and where is your resistance exercise? you rally have to do the mandatory part exercie and both parts to be an atkins success. Read chapter 15 and 22 of your DANDR where Dr Atkins talks about the role exercise plays in his program and how it helps you burn up that body storage fat even while you are gaining lean body mass.

                How are your inches going in the last 40 days? Have you lost body fat?

                If your foods so far today areyour typical menu you really need to read your book and see how to correctly eat your Atkins. Where were your veggie carbs with that cheese from the pizza? meals are some carbs, some proteins and some fats so we don't spike blood sugar by eating all our veggies in one sitting.

                Come on get out your DANDR and follw the rules for 14 days and see what happens to your weight. post your meals, fluids and exercise so you can be accountable in a journal.

                    no this is an off day for me. I usually eat 2-3 eggs with chedder cheese in the morning
                    lunch- tuna, chicken or something else with some veggies
                    dinner- large salad with a side of chicken or hard boiled eggs.
                    I know how to porperly eat but it HASNT WORKED.

                      Just so you don't get dicouraged when I started to exercise I was doing everything right as well I was eating what I was supposed to and I was not losing in fact I didn't lose for 7 weeks straight. I have now been 125 days cheat free and have lost 43 pounds of fat. SO even know I wasn't losing scale weight I was losing fat weight. Have you been measuring yourself if you haven't you had better start cause if your not measuring you won't see the entire weight loss picture I amy not have lost weight but the inches melted off when I first started to exercise. SO don't be dicouraged I know it's hard you are probably building Lean Body Mass then you will start to melt more fat Happened to me since those 7 weeks of nothing I have lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks.Tough it out you will reap the rewards.

                        I know you are frustrated we have all been there with the scales not moving I had a 12 week 6 day stall and I know how frustrating it is to do everything right and not lose scale weight but we are going on what you are tyoping and posting your menu when ask and just posting those few foods for your whole menu indictes you don't know how to eat your Atkins and aren't soing it correctly. Your upodated post shows you understand about the limits and eating but you still have some tweaking to do as Dr Atkins in DANDR telkls us to have some carbs,proten and fats at every meal to aviod spiking out blood sugars from bolusing the carbs at a mal and you don't have yours spread out evenly through out the day.

                        And you don't have the exercise part right either check out chapter 22 of your DANDR resistance training is very important too for weight loss. And Dr Atjkins recoomends a minimun of 30 min of exercise a day in Chapter 22 page 291 of your DANDR not 20 min so you are exercise deficient too.

                        Make those adjustments to your program and then see where you are in 2 weeks time.

                        We are all assuming y9ou did see your dotor and don't have any medical conditons like Dr Atkins discussed in chapter 20 of DANDR that couyld be interfeering with your weight loss.

                          have you been using fitday to track your cal/carbs/fats? Also are you staying within the 3 cup veggie limit?

                            yes I eat enough veggies. I will try incorporating more exercise into my life. I am joining the tennis team tomorrow. Id also like to point out im 16 and it seems weird that its this hard for me to lose weight.

                              congrats on making the tenis team the coach will work you out well with all the conditioning and all.

                              You are doing OWL, right? You need more veggies and stuff for your still growing body then just induction level veggies.

                              You taking your vits?

                              Oh and you better be sure your team doc knowsyou are low carbing as those ketones will show up in your urine for your physical.
