  • Day 19 and I've hit a speed bump

It is now day 19, and I've lost a total of 16 pounds which is great. For the past four days I've hit a plateau in which my weight is hovering right at 240lbs. I've read the blogs and I know that one's weight fluxuates. I've also come to the realization that I shouldn't be checking my weight every day. It was great modivation before, but now... I'm just bummed out considering how well I was doing before. My diet has been fine, and I have been in keitosis. Sorry for sharing my blah story. I just needed to vent. Getting below 240 has been a mini-goal since I started the diet, but I honest feel like my body is fighting against me and the weightloss.

16 pounds are great and it is very normal to see a small stall as you are saying. You will get under 240 soon. Just stick with it.

Thanks for the advice Liv! I think it's the psychological wall of breaking 240lbs which has me so neurotic.

Your body is getting used to this WOE too, so it really is nothing to worry about. Also the inches are most probably still "dripping away". Stick with it, it will be worth it in the end!

Very well done on the 16 pounds - fabotastic!!!!!

I hit a similar mark after week 2. I now weigh in once every two weeks. A lot of people weigh in once a week. Once a day is very frustrating to me.

Nice job on the 16 pounds!!

Congrats about the 16 pounds! Now...trust me when I say that 4 days is not a true stall. There may be times where you may not lose for weeks or months. It happens, and eventually you'll break through.

You seem to be on the right track by realizing that weighing every day may not be right for you. Some people need it for accountability, other people let it get them down if they're stuck. Concentrate on how you feel, and measure, measure, measure!

congrats and keep going i just got from 336lb to 317lb in just under 5 weeks. em. i do have a question though. We people do have stalls and they don't lose weight. how do they lose inches? i don't get it. i thought you lost inches if you lose fat? and if you lose fat you lose weight?

Hey Jason, don't panic...you're not in a "true" stall.....you're doing great, just keep doing everything you're suppose to be doing. I think your body is just adjusting to the weight you've already lost. 16 lbs is AWESOME......you're doing fabulous, don't get discouraged. You'll see the weight starting to come off again on the scales...most importantly is how your clothing is fitting (you're measurements).

Holly, thanks for posting that article again...I've been trying to find it!

Keep up the great work Jason! Something to keep in mind as well is your sodium intake...that can throw a bit of a curve in things for a bit too...not to say that is what has happened, just something to consider.

                  All the best!
