Hi there. I have been off the boards for a while and thought I would check in. I have been on induction since 9/11/08 and have lost 20 lbs. I am very motivated and relieved that I have found this WOE. I do have a couple of concerns. First,, my appetite has been decreasing to the the that I have to force myself to eat. I am very cautious and do not want to slip up. i even lost 2 lbs while away during Thanksgiving. Secondly, I have only added some more veggies to my day. Ideally, I would like to lose 30 more lbs. Should I stick to the narrow path and keep extending induction, or start climbing the scary rungs slowly? Thank you all so much for your support and inspiring journeys. I cannot express how much your missives have helped pull me through. Warmest regards, Caesarsally

Re: Doing well but need some advice
First of all, Caesarsally, congratulations on your cautious diligence and your 20# lost so far.
It is OK to stay on extended induction - if you are satisfied, and comfortable that you are getting the most benefit from your food and drink selections to meet your body's needs. However, a lot of people need to get onto the rungs to avoid slipping up either from boredom leading to a binge or (flipside) to not eating enough, which can work against you by slowing your metabolism.
If you go ahead on the rungs, remember, you can go back to extended induction menu if you wish, but it is on the rungs that you will learn the most about your body with regard to food (and of course exercise!)~Susan

Re: Doing well but need some advice
If you are eating too little you are depriving your body and that is not necessary on Atkins. If you add some more veggies your appetite will probably pick up a bit and you will be eating healthy nutritious food. So I say start your OWL by eating 5 grams of veggies more and see how it goes.
Are you taking your supplements?
