I am in induction and when counting carbs I find myself saving 3 or 4 for a little bit of ketchup on my fish, chicken or meat... does anyone else do something similar to this??

Re: saving carbs for ketchup
I enjoy a little bit of ketchup also. I buy the low carb heinz brand from netrition. You can get it at other places online also
Heinz One Carb Ketchup
It hasn't stalled me and it really helps me when I eat a burger. I used to be able to find this in my local stores but it has been harder to find lately so I order it online.

Re: saving carbs for ketchup
If you have to have ketchup definitely go for the Heinz splenda made one. The normal one is too sugary and not allowed on induction.

Re: saving carbs for ketchup
Ditto for me. I use the Heinz One Carb Ketchup, too. Luckily it's at my local grocery store so I don't have to order it online. If you don't have it at yours you may want to ask the manager if they can order it ~ it's easier to do this if you shop at a local small chain grocery store (rather than a big chain like WalMart or Costco or the like).

Very interesting question, as I started on suaces today!!!Originally posted by jellybelly84 View PostI am in induction and when counting carbs I find myself saving 3 or 4 for a little bit of ketchup on my fish, chicken or meat... does anyone else do something similar to this??

well, I live in Canada, couldnt find heinz one carb, searched big time, and I think it doesnt worth it to order it from states (posting, customs !!! ,ehehe, )
today I noticed ,I just need one smear of sauce, just a film layer of ketchup for my steak ,and a film layer (thinner than a paper) of halepeno sauce for my salad (although it mentions both have sugar)
well,,,,,,,,,,
any ideas
cheers

Re: saving carbs for ketchup
I wish I could find it too - but none to be found here in BC. It sucks that we can't find a LOT of low-carb stuff here due to the dang labeling laws. Its illegal to put the word "carb" in the name of a product here or call anything "low carb" as Health Canada doesn't believe that low-carb is a proven science. You can put low sugar, or low fat, or even low cholesterol but not low carb. As a result - no "carb smart" products or anything like that allowed here. It totally sucks.

Re: saving carbs for ketchup
Sometimes I mixed a tablespoon of ketchup with sourcream and use this in place of just ketchup. It gives me the flavor I am craving and I like the texture. I use it on hamburgers and roasts.sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)
