  • Communion

So here's another question for you all......
On Christmas Eve I was at the candle light service and communion was passed around. It consists of about a tsp of grape juice and a quarter inch by quarter inch cracker. So we are talking tiny portions. I sat there slightly concerned but no chance I was going to pass on it. I find this is important to do but I can't help but wonder what kind of carbs I consumed and if it's enough to throw me off. Things are going fine since. My weight is steady but the carb counter in me can't seem to stop thinking about it.

    Re: Communion

I don't know the answer but the communion wafer is so small there is no way that can throw you off. Even if you go to mass once a week and have one it will be fine. It is not like you are eating an entire box of wafers.

60 pounds lost in 3 months; I'd say you are doing things right

        Re: Communion

The wafer and the wine truly become the body and blood of Christ after the priest's blessing. Therefore they have 0 carbs. Have faith and don't worry.

          Re: Communion

I agree. Take the communion because it is important to you and your faith. I believe it will not affect you negatively .
