This isn't a resoloution it is just the time that life will go back to normal. So I will be hitting the gym on the 5th. I have lost a lot of weight by just changing what I eat but it's time to apply exersize. I can drop my child at school and get a good hour or so in. I am looking to you exersizers for routine suggestions. I will do channel walking 2 days a week for 1 hour each session, it consists of walking against a current while doing upper and lower body exersizes. I will have another 3 days a week to fill. I was thinking about walking at least one mile, doing some lower body weight training and as much elliptical as I can take. Can you suggest a routine or any specifics that have worked for you? I would like to take the next 6 weeks and hit the gym hard to see what I get.

Re: Heading back to the gym on the 5th
That is a good idea. It will make a difference. I think when it comes to doing exercise the most important thing is to find something you will stick with. Personally I like variety. The gym I go to offers classes and I have tried them all. I did not like them all but at least I found out what I like.
I think that if you are doing cardio 3 days you should add strength training the other days. For strength training I usually either to yoga or work with weights or machines. Strength training is going to help reshape your body and build muscles. It is super important. In my gym there is free for charge 20 minutes free for charge intro with a trainer and I really took advantage of that having the person show me how to use some of the equpment. (PS I am running a strength training challenge this month - Come join us. I posted some suggestions in the first post for how to get started)

Great idea to mix things up. I suggest talking to a trainer at your gym for options at the facility. Weight lifting is a fantastic exercise that will help you tone up as you lose weight.sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)
