  • Stall?

Yeah, I am still hanging around the board, still sitting at the same weight for about 2-3 weeks now. Now discouraged, just slipping some. I can not seem to get away from peanuts and peanut butter, it is like my new "cheat" food and it is killing my weight loss. That being said, is it possible to not eat enough carbs and it stall you out as well?? Still drinking ALL that water though.........

    hi.

A plateau or stall is defined by Dr. Atkins as 4 weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So if you didn't measure yourself when you began, take your measurements and start keeping track of them.

I'm in the "peanuts are legumes" camp, so I don't think they should be introduced until the legume rung of OWL. With that said, the rule is if any food you eat causes weight gain or any of your blood sugar symptoms to return, you have to drop that food from you menu. If you didn't take the Blood Sugar Symptom Test in Chapter 13, now is the time to do it so you will be aware of the kinds of things blood sugar instability can cause, in addition to weight gain and cravings.

I'm also going to move this thread the the Extended Induction forum, because it might confuse the 14 Day people who read it.

      Dylansdad,

The Peanut butter is most likely he reason for your stall, and if it has any sugar or transfats in it you're really sabotaging yourself.

Are you exercising ? that's not only critical it'll rev up your metabolism and you'll burn more fat.

Dr. Atkins says Exercise is not an option - Period. If your not, start today. I also think you should get rid of the peanut butter in your house as in right now. It's not your friend. Will you still crave it? of course but it will fade.

By giving in your sabotaging yourself and you've come to far to allow that. Lose the peanut butter!!!

          Dylan,

I understand that, I really do..I know what it's like when it comes to self sabotage I am the king!

A few years ago Iost 40 pounds on Atkins, drifted off course because of those "occassional treats" well those "occassional treats" are the equiveleant of an alcholic having the "occassional drink" all it does is lead you right back to where you started from.

So what do you want? If you want to live fat and dying you'll keep doing this to yourself, if you want to live thin and healthy for you, for your son, for your family and all those who love and depend on you, you'll controll of this issue as in right now at this moment and re commit yourself to the goals that you started with.

Sorry to sound harsh but that's just the truth, and just so you know a few weeks without weight loss is not a stall, past 6 weeks is a stall.

Now go ditch the freakin' peanut butter for cryin' out loud!

          Peter ha

You CAN do it YOU WILL DO IT!!!!

I Know it you want it bad those peanuts are bad I know I have a major peanut thing but, when I first came to the board back in November I was eating a lot of them and having no weight loss. It took a few great people kicking me in the but and I have only had them now a couple days since. I think this is one reason I am doing so well. I also had a 7 week spot where I had no weight loss the inches were comming off like crazy though so do measure it's definately worth it. Your clothes are loser so even know no pounds are leaving you inches are and that is mostly due to fat loss.

            WOOOHOOO.

My oh my peanuts are dangerous i used them the first time round on atkins and i used to eat like 500 grams of them in a day. So now that im doing this again im staying a way from them.

Since you have figured out what is hindering why not get rid of the peanuts, peanut butter etc and go the whole route. Let this not stop you from acheiving your goal or dream. You dont want to be fat forever and this way of life works. and you know it.

Go on get rid of it!!!!

I suspect that you need more fat in your diet. Try switching out cream cheese for your peanut butter.

And yes, you can eat too little and stall out. Your body goes into starvation mode and hordes everything you eat - definitely not the route you want to take!

Many people also see a 'post-induction hesitation' where they stop losing for a few weeks after Induction. However, measurements are very important in determining a "stall", so get out the tape measure. I went down a full dress size without losing a pound at one point.
