    It's strange how on Atikins it seems like you are either losing weight or you are losing inches but never both at once. Right now, I'm not losing weight but my butt and stomach are disappearing. I think it's because I have really gotten into the exercise. I'm walking a mile a day, doing Richard Simmons Tonin Uptown or Tonin Downtown for 30 minutes every day and doing sit-ups every other day. Is it true that the more you exercise the more carbs you can eat?

    No not while on induction though you can eat more calories if you exercise a lot and still lose weight.
    And when you go through OWL and are on premaintenance you would find your CCLL is much higher than many others who dont do as much exercise so once at goal you will be able to eat more carbs and stay at goal.

      it is true the more you exercise the more carbs your body will tolerate and still lose. Dr Atkins noted it in the CCLL charts in OWL.

      you didn't ask but the reason you are losing inches and not weight has to do with how the human body works. We burn large bulky fat molecules pulled from the fat storage cells but because of complicated biochem reasons we need to maintain body shape so the reactions will move in the correct dorections so our body sends signals to plump up those cells with fluids. the fluids being smaller cause inches to be lost but not pounds. When the fluids reach a point that they too are interferring with out bio chem processis by altering the molaity and molarity the body sends out a signal to relaese the fkluyids and poof overnight we get a large weight loss out of proportion to the events of the day before. Low carbers say whooshie visitied.

      Then our bodies go back to plumping tissue with fluid again as bulky body fat is burns for fuel and we reopeat the cycle over and over. Other bodily processes can also alter our mass as we morph on Atkins. We are building lean body tissue through our exercise and protein eating and our body mass is constantly shifitng but the sclaes only measure the change in the effect of the force of gravity on the entire mass so the sclaes don't validate our hard work working our Atkins program and we get frustrated and discouragfed. Those who use the tapemeasure see the fat melting off and are encoraged even when the metal monster isn't showing any changes.

      Of course there are other reasons to plump the tissues with fuilds too and TOM chemicals do that very nicely.

      And that is why we say weight loss isn't liner just the overal change will be a downward trend on Atkins.

        OMG...i have those video's too. I havent started them yet since i have been so sick here lately and havent exercised for a week and half. I just love the downtown one! I will start on them next week i finally just bought me a new band.
