  • Substitute salad greens?

I have been on Atkins Induction for a little over 2 months and dropped two sizes. I'm not sure about weight loss b/c I didn't weigh in when I started. I have just recently started weighing myself and am going to try and only weigh in every two weeks.

I have a question about salad greens. I get bloated after eating only one cup of mixed greens. This is a very uncomfortable sensation for someone who is trying to lose weight! I have started adding a half cup of cooked veggies to each meal (staying at 10 grams of carbs per day) and not eating raw veggies. Will this have a negative impact on my weight loss?

    Congratulations on those sizes lost

Are you getting your 3 cups of veg? Remember, Dr Atkins said we should be getting 'most' of our net carbs from them on induction, so if you are not eating much veg you won't be building up a number of carbs allowable for cheese, eggs, cream, sweeteners.

There is no need ever to eat mixed greens or even lettuce if you don't find they suit you. You can choose other salad veg from the list - mushrooms, peppers, cucumber, jicama, celery, radishes are some that are great cooked as well as raw.

So choose 2 cups of those, cooked with some butter or oil if you don't fancy them raw plus one cup of the other list and you will be good to go!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
