  • how long?

i have about about 80 pounds that i would like to take off, my question is how long can i stay in induction. i have into my second week right now (down 10 pounds!!!) and weigh 222.8, i would like to stay on it until i at least get down to under 200 pounds. Is that too long? or can we stay on it as long as we want?
thanks for all of the help, this group is making this whole process easier, whenever i get hungry for sugar or carbs i just jump on here and read about how great everyone is doing!

    Re: how long?

You can theoretically stay in induction a while. Atkins mentions six months as a maximum. But it is usually not good to try to lose all your weight like this. You have learned nothing about your food tolerances and there is about a 110% chance that you will regain the weight in no time. Move up the ladder and add new foods is very important for continued success. Also many people are very excited for the pounds they lose in induction and think that if they only stay there, they will do good. But the fact is that most of the successful members here on ADBB lost a majority of their weight on OWL. Hope that that helped.
