This Sunday will be three weeks from my official Atkins start date of 1/4.
I have lost 14 pounds in 19 days!!!!! Down from 200 to 186. I don't really feel that different in size but I have had two coworkers say to me - "Hey, you're losing weight, aren't you?" They must see it somewhere I don't, maybe my face? So I plan to continue the induction phase probably until the end of February. My goal weight is 140. My mini-goal is 160 and I plan to hit that next month.
Constipation is not fun. Let's just say that I'm "starting" to get over it.
The first week was very difficult. I had headaches I assume from the abrupt sugar and caffeine withdrawal. I was a very heavy Mountain Dew drinker. The change from drinking soda during the day and high-in-sodium Crystal Light at night to just water was a difficult transition, but the end goal is really more rewarding. I hate preparing food for lunch, so I've just been doing bun-less fast food burgers. The lunch crew I eat with every day think I'm nuts. I told them today that I'm at -14 and they think even "Jared" would be jealous of that.
For dinner it's been chicken or steak with different spices to keep up the variety, always making sure to read the label on the spices just in case, and usually broccoli and/or spicy green beans. I have a small cheddar slice for a snack a few hours before bed.
Never been much of a breakfast guy, so a quick hard-boiled egg with a half-glass of water and I'm out the door for work. Usually. Yes, I'm inconsistent but I am sticking to the foods!
The cravings for other foods like sweets and junk food ended sometime in the second week. Uhm, the laxative sugar-free powder drink actually tasted good. Weird.
Water. I can't stress that enough. I read someone else's post earlier about the color on the Keto-stick or whatever they're called. Mine wasn't the darkest color on the chart, but it was the 2nd darkest, so I know I'm in Ketosis, but I could probably drink more and from now on I will.
As for exercise, I do bowl twice a week and I walk and do stairs at work, but that's really about it for now. I'll add in some more when I think I'm more capable.
So overall, I'm very pleased with my progress and plan to keep it going until the ultimate goal, which includes hitting some beaches in the Caribbean this September without little children yelling "Mommy, can I help it back in the water!"

Apologies for the length, just wanted to be thorough and helpful.

. As long as you temper your expectations a little bit you can really enjoy this WOE. Plus, we're a pretty fun group. If you hit goal too quick, you might not be on here as often. Best of luck,
