    hi all,

Yesterday was a bad day for me. I have been eating pretty much the same thing everyday and last night it just about drove me over the edge. I didn't cheat, but it was a tough fight. Today I found a few things that I thought might be good to keep on hand in case I ever need something of the sort. Please tell me what you all think of these products.

I got carboptions peanutbutter 3 net carbs.

russell stover low carb peanutbutter cups made with splenda and 0.8 net carbs per piece.

I picked up some baking products (because they were on sale) MiniCarb pie crust mix... is that legal? and has anyone ever tried to use that in the place of flour?

    TIA,...advice needed.

Maybe you should consider moving to OWL.
REad the section in Chapter 13 and answer the questions on page160 (in my edition - section titled 'More Induction?'
Looks as if you will answer 'Yes' to question 1 so move on!!!

Peanuts are a 'legume' so save them till rung 6.

According to www.low-carb.com the mix contains
    Ingredients:
Soy Protein Isolate, Oat Bran, Vital Wheat Gluten, Baking Soda, Soy Lecithin.

All processed foods have to list their ingredients so try to get into the habit of reading them so you can work out if the product is allowed :hug If you are not sure, list the ingredients on this board and someone will be able to advise you I am sure.
I am not sure if Oat Bran is allowed on induction (I know oat flour isnt) but someone will be along soon to make it clear I hope - if not then it should be saved till the Grains rung - rung 9 of OWL.

Go to the OWL forum and read through some of the postings there to get a feel of how it is done - there are several people who have posted that their weighloss increased once they started to climb the OWL ladder :joy
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

and just a warning that the russel stovers stuff are high in sugar alcohols(all the ones I've seen have splenda but also alot of maltitol)which give alot of us stomach problems and increased cravings.

          Thank you for the reply.

I just had 3 chicken tender strips battered in the carb baking mix. :no
I should have waited for replys. Do you think it will stall me? I was thinking it was OK because it had 0 carbs. I wanted something different so badly.

oh well, it was gooood :guns I didn't want to mess up though.

          Defintely no peanutbutter for me!

          Thanks Elizellen :hug

Thanks... I knew I was in the danger zone. It's a miracle I didn't cheat last night. I'm glad I held on though.

How do you prepare your chicken wings? And do your "treats" stall you?

Good Luck to you too! :hug You look GREAT!

you can read the recipe section of the board for ideas or clik the recipe link up above and just type in wings to see all the ways we can make them you can even eat naked wings out as they are hotsauce and butter baked on the wings you can deepfry your naked winds or back them you can do the same think to naked chicken tenders.

Nobody can tall you how bad you messeds yourself up because none of us know what your CCLL is tight now you need to watch for food cravings.

                Happy low carbing.

                  Wings

i kinda invented my wings out of trial and error, and just finished a nice big plate of them

i buy them frozen at costco. turn the oven to the highest setting, and pop em in just like that, no oil, salt, breading or anything. i bake them for 45+min. until hey start looking kinda dried out. and then I just pour on the sauce. since they're very hot it kinda thickens right on them. it's great!

for the sauce, i just buy cheap buffalo sauce from the dollar store, out in some low carb ketchup, and for spices: splenda, garlic powder, ginger powder, and believe it or not, half a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg. yummmmmmmmy! since they're a little more expensive per serving than my regular meals, I really feel luxurious when i eat them :yes

as for the treats... it's not the most popular view around here, but it's really what works for me. i know that if I ask too much of myself, I'll break. so, I've trusted myself in having a treat every once in a while, i guess it keeps me sane. i usualy try to make it a smart cheat: berries, carb chocolate, carb ice cream, etc. I don't really know if it has stalled me. I think i do it rarely enough that I don't really notice the difference. it's definitely different for everybody, that's just what works for me.

and wow!! thanks for the compliment! :joy I stil can't really believe it when i get a compliment, i keep thinking people are lying, or flattering me... i wonder when that will change
