Richard Simmons is a lot of fun! E-bay is a great place to find his videos. I do Tonin' Uptown and Tonin Downtown on alternate days, you work your upper body one day and your lower body the next. It comes with toning rings, I sing along with the music and the time flies by!
Have you heard of Leslie Sandsone? She has videos called Walk Away the Pounds, you basically march in place along with a few very easy steps with her, there is the 1 mile, 2 mile and on up to 4 miles. When I started, I could barely get through the 1 mile, but it was only a few weeks until I was doing the 2 and 3 miles. It really builds lung capacity and stamania
Hope you find something you enjoy, exercise is soooo important!Chriss Female 246/236/160 5'3"

I have sooooo many videos and I have quite a few of his videos. the Sweatin' to the Oldies ones are good, but the workouts are long and if yo are not used to exercising, you will not be able to finish a workout for a while. His later ones, area bit shorter. I also have the Tonin' Uptown/Downtown videos w/toning cords and I LOVE them. I used to use them 3 days a week for my weight resistant exercising. I also have WATP--Walk Away The Pounds by Leslie Sansone, which is really taken over as my first love in exercise videos. Those videos are great and for anybody, at any fitness level. You might wanna try those first (you can find them on Ebay as well) and buy the Richard Simmons Toning videos for you weight trainging videos, they are really great for that.

Along with Tonin uptown and tonin downtown I do dance your pants off
It is a longer one 50 minutes, but you can modify a little bit to do it a little easier.

Re: Richard Simmons
I also have Sweatin' to the Oldies (the very first one). I bought the DVD when it came it so I can do it when I travel. You don't need too much room so I can use it even in small hotel rooms. I also have Walk Away the Pounds. To me, Sweatin' to the Oldies is easier. I really like it because it brings back memories of when I did it as a kid in school. With Walk Away the Pounds, you can turn the volume down and turn on your own music if you like. Both are really good.

Of the Sweatin' to the oldies, 3 is my favorite.
I also have the Walk Away the Pounds videos and they are great, although the music leaves something to be desired.

Re: Richard Simmons
I just bought the sweating to the oldies videos at walmart.com. They came as a group of 4 different ones for around $30.00

Re: Richard Simmons
You guys have made me think I should get some Richard Simmons vidoes! The only problem is that I live in a pretty small flat and I have downstairs neighbors. Do I need a large amount of space or is there a lot of jumping (that would annoy those below me) in his videos? Thanks!

Re: Richard Simmons
I love Billy Blanks Tae Bo. They're not too long, but you get a full exercise. I have one of his complete sets-(3 Basic and 3 Advanced). This gives me something to work towards. I can actually get through Tae Bo Basic 1 without stopping. I couldn't do this when I 1st started working out on 02/26/08.
**Some of you may find this funny, but I have an old Jane Fonda Workout on VHS--and I absolutely love it.
Your options are endless.
HAPPY LOSING!!!

Re: Richard Simmons
I can only speak for the first one but with it you don't need much space at all. You can do a lot of it in one spot and there are occasions when you walk forwards, backwards, or side to side. If you are in a really small space you could always modify it but I am going to start using it when I travel and trust me, sometimes I end up staying in really small hotel rooms.

Thanks! I think I'll try it! I have done it in the past but that was SO long ago that I can't remember them at all!Originally posted by yuly333I can only speak for the first one but with it you don't need much space at all.
