My dear u have lost 21 pounds :clapping :clapping i think your doing great.

Just wanted to mention people have different metabolisms. So comparing yourself with her doesnt exactly help you out. Your doing fantastic your 21 pounds down plus also the no weightloss is usually common right after induction. so just hang in there.

Another thing is that maybe the antibodies might also be affecting your weightloss. Dont way yourself till your off the antibiotics. Good luck keep it up.

Don't kick yourself about not losing any this past week. You have to understand that antibiotics cause your body to slow down or stop in weightloss. Also, I am not aware as to how long you have been doing Atkins, but alot of people have a tendency to hit a stall around the 3rd week after starting the program. Also, since you mentioned that TOM is on it's way, you will be dealing with hormonal changes and water weight gain. I would suggest that you do not weigh yourself until your medication is done as well as after TOM is done.

As a woman who has had to take antibiotics twice since starting Atkins as well as being stalled a few times, I do know how frustrating it can be. Don't let that discourage you. You know this WOL works for you, so stick to it and be proud of the weight loss you have accomplished so far.

        You can do this! :icondance

          Low fat v/Atkins

I did the low fat thing. I lost 82 pounds, it took me 2 years to lose that weight, I was hungry all the time, I did 2-3 hours of exercise 6 days a week, I was at my goal weight for about 2 days, then I started putting it back on. It is very difficult to maintain a lowfat lifestyle. I want something that I can do for the rest of my life, I think Atikins is it. I have come to the realization that I am allergic to sugar. I used to get horrible diareaha, so bad that a couple of times, I almost didn't make it to the bathroom. I went to a gastroentrologist, he put me on all this medication, he never told me that all that low-fat food I was eating was full of sugar! Since I weaned myself off sugar, I have all this energy, my mind is clear, I feel so much better. How long has it taken your neighbor to lose the 50 pounds on lowfat? Look at her fingernails, are they brittle? Ask her if she is experiencing hair loss, I did.

if youre bored with the food, maybe we can suggest some stuff? things to get you perked up again. i know that i loooove chicken wings :yes

              :wave

First, losing 21 lbs is fantastic! Your metabolism is doing great for you to lose that much weight during induction! Also, like Ditien said, don't compare yourself to other people. Everybody is different and loses at different rates. For example, I lost 15 lbs on induction while some lost more, like you, and some lost less. I don't feel any sadness about my loss because others lost more!

So your friend lost 50 lbs on low fat---ask her how hungry she is/was to get there. Then ask yourself, since you started Atkins, how do you feel? Do you suffer from hunger? Was your weight loss fast and easy or did it take as long as her? You lost 21 lbs in two weeks---she probably took 4 or 6 months to lose just 50 lbs.

You will find that the minute people realize you are losing weight on Atkins, zillions of family/friends/doctors will keep trying to talk you out of following it. And some of that reason is jealousy. You are doing very well, keep it up and stay the course. Make sure that you are getting in your water and make sure you are exercising. Wait til Aunt Flo and your antibiotics are done, and you will see progress but you need to be patient.

Everyone has what we call stalls but actually it is the bodys way of adjusting to the new weight and setpoint and realizing you are not starving to achieve this new weight. Don't worry, all will be fine! :hug
