    Salad Dressing

I use Maries Blue Cheese salad dressing. I need to know how much everyone uses on their salad ... 1 tablespoon? 2 tablespoons?

Typical serving size is 2 TBS, but with some salad dressings (runny ones like Italian) it seems like too much. Thick ones like Bleu Cheese 2 TBS is pretty good.

Try measuring out the amounts with a standard cooking measuring spoon and toss your salad---you'll find that the dressing will nicely coat the veggies.

I use 1 T for each large "handful" of lettuce (about 1-1/2 cups). I usually make a 3-cup lettuce and veggie salad for lunch every day and add 2 T of whichever dressing I select. (My current fave is Jalapeno Ranch made by Litehouse.)

My favorite is Ranch. No doubt about it. Before Atkins, I could never get enough of it, and now I'm very satisfied with 2 T and am kind of amazed how much i can stretch those 2 T.

                I use Hidden Valley Ranch

One thing I love about the Atkins diet, is you can use salad dressing that isn't low fat..Low Fat dressing is so boring..I usually use 2 tablespoons and that is more than enough..I also like to use WISHBONE blue cheese once in a while for a change..2 Tablespoons of that also..I am not real big on oil and vinegar dressings never have been..It seems we should get free salad dressing coupons with all this free advertizing we are giving these companies..Ha. Ha. I actually look foward to my salad everyday, before this diet I might of had salad once a week if I was lucky, now I see it as always being a part of my diet :joy .

Low fat dressing or anything low fat isn't good for Atkins. Lower fat or non-fat items make up for the lack of fat by increasing the carbs. So avoid those products.

                    Salad Dressing

I wish I had known all those years that I was low fat dieting that they replace the fat in everything low fat with sugar! I read everything I could get my hands on about low fat dieting, but that little fact just slipped by me....anyway, I usually look at how many carbs are in the dressing and measure accordingly. Like this one dressing I like Robusto Italian, has 3 grams of carbs, a serving is 2 TBSP, so I only have one. I love that jalapeno ranch, that is my favorite right now.
