  • Week 4 & a little discouraged :(

In the first 3 weeks I lost 9lbs but to my horror when I weighed in at the end of week 4 I had no weight loss. Is this normal for the weight loss to stop even though Im doing the same stuff as I did the first 3 weeks?.
    Any advice guys?

    Hi ArmyMom,
Take a look at a thread titled "Stall? Not more than 1 LB. Loss A Week? READ THIS!" over on the Second Time Around Club's forum... what you're experiencing is common and explainable. Read this thread and stick to plan

      Thanks Vickie
That also explained why I have been more dehydrated this week even though I was drinking plenty!

Oh yes, very common. Just look at it as your body adjusting to this new way of eating. I would love it if we all lost 9 lbs every three weeks haha. But as time goes on, your weight loss will begin to slow a little but not completely. For me it has slowed to a couple lbs a week. As long as the number is going down, it's all good with me . Keep up the good work

Stay strong...DON'T GIVE UP..... think about it this way...you may lose more in the next few weeks...things happen...but don't give up...I'm counting on you.

Make sure you are taking note of how your clothes fit or taking actual measurements as we often lose inches instead of pounds as our body readjusts itself.

You didn't say how much weight in total you want to lose or what kind of resistance to weightloss your 14 day induction loss represents (look at the chart in DANDR to work this out)

Unless you are wanting to lose over a hundred pounds I imagine you have a low-average resistance, so might not benefit from staying on induction for much longer.

Many members found their losses increased once they moved to OWL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I was creeping along weeks 4 and 5. I added chromium as a supplement and I have lost a pound the last two days. I also added michelob ultra the last two days, but it's probably the chromium. It would be cool if it was the michelob though.

                Re: Week 4 & a little discouraged

Thanks everybody for the support. Im currently 191 and would like to get down to 145 asap. Im 3 months postpartum which may also play a part in it, I know my body is still adjusting. Being in the military I only have 6 months after delivery to get back into shape. I have to weigh in again at the end of may!arrrrgh. Although even if I dont make weight I can be taped but my BMI must be 34% or below in order to pass. As long as there is some weight loss I know Im on the right track.

                  Hi Army mom,
Wow! That's a lot of pressure. You may not get to 145 that quick, but if you stick with this, you'll definately see results and wt loss and at least make the 34%. Hang in there. A 'whooshi' may be just around the corner! Good luck.

Thanks for the support, Im trying to stay realistic. I know Id have to cut my leg off to make that weight

How do I get my picture and ticker to show in my posts? I looked on the F&A page but am obviously doing something wrong.

                      Re: Week 4 & a little discouraged

I didn't lose a pound for about the last week and ahalf, and then blam, 3 gone. and i can tell in my body shape though. If all else fails, measure. My tummy is my worst spot so if i think im not losing, i whip it out and check the measurement. OR get a really tight short and shorts, and just slip em on every now and then if you think you havent lost anything in days. It makes for an easy comparison!

Sadly i fell off the wagon...HOWEVER im back on starting today 8/21/09 (176lb)
