I know in induction Berries are not allow, actually I have been doing a very clean inducction diet for 3 weeks now and I'm very happy with my progress..9lbs and an 1 inch off my waistline...

My question is if during extenden induction; could I exchange 5gr of carbs of salad or viggies for 1/2 cup Strawberries....??

If I keep my carbs under 20grms, does really matter if I exchange Strawberries for Brocolies.

Thanks...and pls do not kill me over this yet...I'm not doing anything yet...LOL

    Re: Strawberries

No, if you are doing induction, you can only eat induction foods. Otherwise, it is just not induction. The reasons why you cannot exchange broccoli with strawberries are (1) it's easier to eat too many strawberries than to eat too much broccoli and (2) more people have an intolerance to strawberries than to broccoli.

I was looking at your BMI though... and you are in the healthy weight range. So instead of doing extended induction (which is intended for people who are metabolically resistant), a better thing to do is to move to OWL and climb up the rungs. That way you will soon be able to eat strawberries without cheating. After you get in ketosis, staying in induction does not guarantee faster weight loss.

I agree with Georgiana staying on induction will probably not increase your losing rate so move to OWL and increase your food choices as well as your net carbs.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Thanks Georgina and Elizellen.

I though it was easy to lose on induction than in any other face…that’s way I’ve been doing it after the 14 days.

I’m 5,5 ft 143 lbs, I’m nor over weight, actually I’m very muscular and I’m very active, but I need to get “leaner”, drop at least 20 more lbs.

It is true my induction weight lost has been slowing lately, but reading other post I though it was normal.

Then, my question is; Ketosis still goes on in OWL?

I guess I have to follow your advice…..or if any other advice you want to give me, I’ll appreciate very much!

        Thanks.

Absolutely ketosis still occurs in OWL, if your carbs are within your personal 'critical carbs for losing' range, and guess what.. you only know what that is if you do OWL and do it correctly. You have to increase the carb count slowly, when you stop losing, you drop back a few, and that is your 'critical carb' number. That also gives you a basis for knowing how you will eat for the rest of your life and not gain.
