  • The 4th week stall?

    Hi everyone, I'm almost done with my 4th week. I've lost a total of 5 lbs on Atkins - as I was following a low-fat diet before and therefor didn't lose the 5 lbs of water weight that ppl usually lose on induction. ANYWHO, so my weight loss has been roughly 1 lb per week - even on induction (can anyone say metabolic resistance?!?!) However, this last week (so week 4) the scale hasn't budged. I've been reading a lot about the stall that people experience anywhere from the 3rd to the 6th week on Atkins. I fall right in that range. Can anyone tell me more about this stall? How long does it normally last? What are your experiences with it? Do I up the exercies to get past it or just continue the plan and it will eventually pass?

    CONGRATS ON YOUR SUCCESS SO FAR.

    this isn't a stall as that is 4 weeks of no loss of weight nor inches. this is a temporary hesitation in weight loss experinenced by all and on any weight loss program not just Atkins. your body under went some very complicated bio chem changes and is still adjusting. You are still losing body fat mass but the problem is the scale only measures changes in total body mass so the fluids your body is plumping you with to maintain shape are adding mass and the lean body tissues you are growing are adding mass and the net change you can see in your tapemeasure inches just isn't showing up on the scales. Keep eating your Atkins doing your exercise part too and your body will continue to morph. Soon that fluid will exceeed the biochem tolerence your body has for the interferrence it also causes and poof you will get an over night weight loss out of proportion to the exerice and eating you did the day before. We call that a visit from whoosh fair and that will be the pattern your will see from here on out loss of inches no pounds whoosh loss of pounds then nothing

    Keep working your Atkins and it will keep working for you.
