FYI. Dailyplate.com works just as well as Fitday.com and is prettier, and gives graphs, etc.

        Re: Going InSaNe!!!

squash is too high in carbs for the start of the diet to me its more of a mataining weight food i could never lose weight while eating it

        Sprouts (bean, alfalfa, etc.)
Greens – lettuces, spinach, chard, etc.
Hearty Greens - collards, mustard greens, kale, etc.
Radicchio and endive count as greens
Herbs - parsley, cilantro, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc.
        Bok Choy
        Celery
        Radishes
        Sea Vegetables (Nori, etc)
        Cabbage (or sauerkraut)
        Mushrooms
        Jicama
        Avocado
Cucumbers (or pickles without added sugars)
        Asparagus
        Green Beans and Wax Beans
        Broccoli
        Cauliflower

these are the lowest carb veges try sticking to just them for now

Just to second what oz said, as much as dr. atkins advocated going off any unnecessary medications, he did not advocate going off necessary meds on your own. If you have an arrhythmia/uncontrolled tachycardia as you mentioned it can be dangerous or life-threatening to stop taking multiple medications without any medical consulation. Just my 2 cents.

ya in the past i had to eat very low net carbs in order to lose weight
but that could have been because i may have been eating to much protien

but when someones not loseing weight i think trying this might help

eat less net carbs and if thats not enough
exersize more and if thats not enough
              eat less protien

and if that doesnt work then eat extremely low net carbs exersize alot and eat medium amounts of protien

and then if all that does not work you prob got thyroid problems that need to be treated

              or your missing something

or you have next to no fat left to lose

                Re: Going InSaNe!!!

If you exercise a lot it may be better to eat more carb and protein. Some people also need to add a lot of fat - because they start thinking they can do well if they mix some diets together. Which is self defeating.
We like to follow the book. Atkins based his advice on years of research of many patients and we believe (and I personally know) it works. So on induction it is 65% fat, 5% carbs, 30% protein.
It may be true that even on induction you can come across a food item that is not good for you to eat - but that is an individual thing. When it comes to how we react to individual foods we are all fairly different. What works for one person may not work for another.

Sorry. I have to completely disagree with this. Well, perhaps not so much with the *theory* more of the order. I think trying to cut net carbs (if they are coming from VEGGIES) is not the first step. I would go with ensuring that I am eating enough fat and no hidden icky carbs first. Then ensuring that I am not eating too much protein. Then checking calories.

You should not be eating "extremely low net carbs". A lot of times people have problems losing since they think that the less carbs they eat, the more they lose... this is NOT AT ALL TRUE!! I've seen so many people afraid to move onto OWL and add carbs because they don't want to gain weight, even though they are stalled with induction. When they take the step and *ADD* carbs from veggies, they actually DROP weight.

I (of course) feel like everyone should be exercising, and do believe that if they are not, then they should be. I do not feel like everyone should be spending 3 hours a day in a gym to lose weight.

                    Re: Going InSaNe!!!

ya i guess its different for everyone

i used to be around 315 pounds dropt to 250 on atkins and then was stuck there for months

then i stoped eating these 10 net carb and 8 grams of fiber whole wheat wraps and dropt down too 230

but ya everyone is diffrent i guess what i should have said was try to find whats preventing you from loseing weight and that it might be to much carbs or protien or lack of exersize or not enough fat or something

and to help you find out what it might be try to learn more about the atkins diet and read his books and or look for info on the net

Um. Whole wheat wraps. That's not carbs from veggies... that's grains.. at least now you know they're not so fantastic with your body.

Why are you weighing every single day? If you are so sensitive that a .2oz gain makes you depressed, you need to train yourself to not peek at that scale... Once a week weighing is fine and you won't stress as much over every little ounce...

I woke up this morning a whole pound higher than yesterday and my first thought was WHYYYYYYYYYY??? But then I have to remember that my body is the boss... It will lose how it wants to, not how I want it to... as long as it is still losing... (overall) you are doing fabulous!
