Today is my birthday and usually it would be chocalate cake, and ice cream day..But instead we are going to have t-bone steaks, and nice salads..I may splurge and have some diet cherry jello..The kind that has no carbs or calories...I don't think I will miss the cake and ice cream as much as my husband does..So, I did buy him a minature thing of Ice cream, I can't beleive how many times people have said to me, I can't believe your self control...Its just when you see the pounds coming off and the work you have done to get there, you don't want to have to start from square one again...I really like this board and daily look at the posts for encourgement and ideas.. :joy

A chocolate cheesecake made with Splenda or stevia would have enabled you to have your cake and eat it too.

The best way to tackle days such as your birthday is to do exactly what you have done. Treating yourself to some really nice 'legal' food is the best thing you can do psychologically, that way you dont feel like your are being 'deprived' ...
Im having lobster on Sunday instead of a Chocolate Easter Egg!!!
All of last year I had people going on about my self-control and will power, and before I started the AWOL I would have been one of them thinking that what it takes, but now I know its about really wanting to change and doing it for yourself and taking responsibility for what goes in your mouth instead of blaming everything and everyone else....
Gosh that was a bit serious of me!!! :yikes
