  • seven weeks of induction completed today

257 down to 226.But the way my clothes fit doesn't give 31 lbs justice.Tee's that I couldn't get on now are hanging on me.42 pants that barely fastened have give away to 38's which are loose.Only lost 1 lb last week but prob gave up a 1/2 inch in waist.Couldn't be happier with results.Enjoying my food selections on induction and have no plans to move up anytime soon.Found a old transcript of Atkins on Larry King show many years ago.Very interesting comparison to later diet changes. Not as easy to adapt to but probably was able to sell a lot more books with latter changes.Regardless, I am on VLC permamently.Heading to the track for my 4 mile walk.Good luck to all.

Congrats to you!! Nothing is better than being able to see so many changes yourself!! Pounds down, inches gone and clothes that remind you of a tent! That's really nice. The exercise helps you tremendously, I'm sure. Great for you!! Keep going!

What sort of things were different in the original book/diet/revolution? Or could you share the transcript?

      Thanks,

Didn't keep the link but you should be able to google larry king live dr atkins interview.Just more emphasis on maintaining a lifetime of LC eating.Little more stricter than later book.I would think both ways would work as long as you don't pass that invisible line of too many carbs.Problem with me is if I do pass it, hunger returns and I'm off to the races.Very hard to get back.

Phil, I don't know how tall you are, but I have some good news for you. I am 5'11, and started at 241 wearing 38's. I am at 198 now and my 34's are loose enough that I'm looking into getting some 32's soon. I have only lost 3 pounds in the two weeks since I went to 34's, and the pounds don't come off as quickly as you approach a goal weight, but the inches don't seem to be stopping. You are on the right path for sure. Bet I see you in Wonderland by summer.

I am 6'1 3/8" in bare feet.Used to be a solid 6'2" but age and gravity took back some.My goal is 185lbs but realistically 188-190 might suit me better.Should be able to wear 32 waist by then.My skinny 22 y/o son wears 32w-34 inseam.I have my eyes on some of his jeans that he left at home after he moved out.The kid is 155 lbs and 6'3".Rock guitarist have to be skinny I guess.

Phil, excellent work ! You must feel great having 31 pounds gone! You'll be able to wear those jeans you mentioned before you know it. Keep it up. It's a very good thing that you're exercising, too.

                  Kudos to you!

Good work!!! It is amazing to hear the progress we make on Atkins! I return to this board after over four years just to remind myself of how far we have all come and it doesn't get old. For me, the weight loss was great, but coming off from diabetic medications and blood pressure pills (medically supervised, of course) was the "gravy".

it's all about little victories, im in a LARGE scrub instead of the XL's i normally wear...unfortunately i dont have that many larges as they never really fit, so i have to wear the big ones half the time, and i looks silly cause they're much too big now. : ) but it makes me smile.

Sadly i fell off the wagon...HOWEVER im back on starting today 8/21/09 (176lb)
