The remedy i'm going to share with you is no joke. Do you have vicks vapor rub? Rub some on the bottom of your feet and put some socks on. This will sooth your cough.

Also, here's a testimony that it works

    December 11th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I have had a deep persistent cough for three months with an ER visit with ART (aresol breathing treatment), IV Solu-medrol, chest xray, oral prednisone, etc.
I had totally forgotten about Vics Vapor rub since I do not have children. A coworker, who has 12 children, told me about applying the rub on my feet. I bought the rub after work and worked out.at the gym. Yes, I put the rub on my feet during that time and noticed I did not cough as much during my workout. I then went home, showered, and then again applied (Vics Vapor Rub CREAM-higher percentage of medication versus the original rub) and slept through the night without coughing (however, I also continued to take my night dose of cough med…so I thought I’d continue my trial). During the next morning and throughout my workday, I applied the Vics cream which worked wonders!
I wanted to make sure that it did not have a placebo effect on me, so I had my my coworkers pay attention to whether or not it made a difference. They noticed it made a significant difference….no coughing at all!
I work as a Nurse Practitioner in Pain Management; however I am nationally board certified in Family Practice and would recommend this treatment for the use of adults and children. I would use the cream for adults and baby vics rub for children.
PS…FYI, yes, I have an appointment with my provider for follow-up and will discuss my treatment.

Sherri, thank you SO much! I also have a lingering case of bronchitis and have been afraid to take anything for the cough.

I have read in the past that putting essential oils on the bottom of your feet was an effective way to use them. You can actually taste the oils a short while after applying them.

But I would never have thought of using Vics that way.

Going to go try it right now!
