  • There has gotta be something that I can....

eat for dessert on extended induction. I know that we a re trying to beat addictions, etc, what-have-you but you know....once in a while, I need something for dessert or a little sweet not like sugar stuff but....some thing! Is there nothing safe that I can eat on extended induction? I say again, I am not trying to feed a sugar addicton or anything like that. its like.....when once in a blue moon, you indulge in something that you want but know you can't eat everyday or week. Any ideas??? :eating

My desserts are usually mock danishes, cinnamon flax bread, or flavoured water. If you really feel up to working for desserts, an induction friendly cheesecake is always delicious. Cream cheese is definitely your friend as it is feeling and pretty darn tasty.

I take cream cheese and let it soften to room temp, and I mix in some pure cocoa and splenda to taste. I drop it in teaspoonfuls on some parchment paper (or wax paper, or a nonstick baking sheet) and I freeze them. Pop them into a plastic container and put them back in the freezer.
They are lovely and melt in your mouth.
The carb count will depend on how much cream cheese, cocoa and splenda you use.

I don't eat it ...or anything really, as a dessert, per se, because sweets and desserts got me up to 194 pounds in the first place, so I avoid them for the most part. I do like an occasional treat, and I'll have one or two of these and I'm happy. :nod

Remember that rhubarb is on the 1 cup veggie list. You can measure out a cup raw, and cook it down with a little splenda. A teaspoon of that on cream cheese and flax bread is a nice little bright flavor once in a while.

Try Clouds, they are in the cookbook and speaking about cookbook, did you check out the dessert section. There are some great ideas and also some in the food forum under desserts.

I always have induction friendly cheesecake, in the freezer, wrapped up individually, so that if I have that urge, there is something there. There are numerous recipes in the dessert section,,,,I always like to experiment with something different, and new. :yes

I used to whip a little cream and add a little cocoa powder to it.
I'm rather simple and don't really need/crave desserts

I love cheese, so I used to eat a 'dessert' cheese like Brie or Camenbert with jicama slices (to mimic asian pears or apples).

Hi there I'm just curious.... when did you start induction? did you lose 70lbs quickly on your extended induction or are you counting 70lbs from previous diets, etc.?

I make a flax cookie about three times a week, mostly because that seems to be enough flax to keep me regular. I take one tablespoon of butter and melt it in the microwave for thirty seconds. Then I add two tablespoons of ground flax meal, a teaspoon of cocoa powder (sometimes I leave this out and add a teaspoon of cinnamon instead), two teaspoons of Splenda and three tablespoons of water. I mix that all up good, put a piece of parchment paper on a plate, dump it all on the plate and microwave it for three minutes. It makes one great big cookie which is great with a hot cup of decaf. It's pretty much the only time I use artificial sweetener. It's yummy, trust me!
