  • Wow I actually did it

today is day 14, and i've lost 10 lbs. After today i'm officially in extended induction. I don't think i've ever made it 14 days without a cheat before. This time I don't even want to cheat. Last weekend I sat quite content while the Boyfriend ate a giant reese's peanut butter easter egg. I haven't yet been at that point where you can't control yourself and you just HAVE to cheat. I feel in control! Even before when I tried atkins the first time and lost over 30 lbs, I still ended up cheating every few weeks, then beat myself up over it, then did it all over again. I also never worked out, which I am now doing every day in some form or another. I think i'm finally fed up with my excuses and lack of commitment enough to put real effort into making this a life change, not a quick fix. happy happy happy even though things went a little haywire my second week.

First week, lost 8.6lbs went down to 9.7, then suddenly spiked back up 2 or 3 lbs and I spent the entire second week fighting to get back down. I didn't cheat once, although I did stop working out for about 4 days, and boom the numbers started climbing! today I finally am back to 9.7. Its a little annoying that my body spent about 6 days freaking out and just recently started going back down, but it comes with the territory I suppose!

        Great induction result

I often think it is better not to weigh during the 14 days as then you can celebrate the end result without having the worry of seeing the scales fluctuate from day to day with often no rhyme or reason to it
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Congratulations on fantastic results!!! I agree with Elizellen about not weighing during induction, but it is extremely tempting to. Keep up the great work, stay on plan, keep exercising and drink at least 64oz of water a day!! You'll be at your goal before you know it!

Tell the boyfriend it's not nice to eat in front of you!! I tell my husband that all the time but it does no good!! Glad you were able to resist....

Now that you are past the 2 weeks you might get to a stall soon... Your body needs to reset to the new weight before it can start losing again... Know that it's going to happen so that when you do you don't think, well this isn't working anymore and cheat... Making it through the stalls is the hardest part, but it sounds like you now have the control to do it... Keep us updated...

Re: Wow I actually did it

i should just get rid of my scale all together! But I have no tape measure right now so thats all I had to go on to make sure I wasn't messing up. I remember last time i'd lose a few lbs all at once or in a few days, then stick in the same spot for another week, repeat. Hopefully working out this go around will speed things up
