  • Love Slim Jims but Aiming for Slim Jane!

I am a single mom with a very demanding professional career. I am on extended induction and doing well. However, sometimes in an effort not to cheat I will grab a Slim Jim. Honestly, it is the only "fast food" that I indulge in and the only reason I do this is so that when I'm running around it is convenient and I can grab it quick and it holds me over for a couple of hours until I can get "real" food.

Is this okay or are there other fast snack alternatives that can stay in my traveling purse.

What are the ingredients? If they are all 'legal' for your Atkins phase then it should be fine now and again.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I too am a SLim Jim fan. I dont indulge all the time, but if you are in a pinch, and didnt allow time to cook anything.. its better than chips/high carbs. It does have high sodium, but, drink plenty of water to flush it out

I hope you are not for not being able to eat those. You are making healthier options and that's something to be super excited about!

By the way, I love the title of your thread.

Instead of Slim Jim's, I get beef sticks from a local store that have more Atkins friend ingrediants and taste better. When I know I am going to have a hetic day and need to bring some snacks I grab a few. It dosen't appear to hamper my weight loss. Check you local meat shop or grocery store for different brands, there might be one that is more "friendly".
