  • What I have been doing for breakfast.

Since I finished my 14 day CLEAN induction, I decided I had to change it up for breakfast. I needed something I didn't have to cook or have to do anymore with eggs.

I have been drinking an EAS Whey Protein Shake every morning. It is only 2 carbs, and made with Splenda.

The only problem I figured was that it was more of a high-protein, low-fat item. So, to balance that out, I've been making it with 50% water and 50% half & half (to up that fat content!, plus it is creamier)

Just wondering if this is ok. No it is not induction friendly, and I'm aware of that. I have continued to lose weight steadily even while drinking this every morning.

Well, if you are still losing weight and you are aware of the fact that the shakes are not allowed during Induction (and this does not bother you), then I'm not sure I am able to find an argument against drinking them. I would not advise anyone to have it during Induction (because of the ingredients in the shakes and the half and half), but at the end of the day, the choices one makes are strictly his/her responsibility. What you could do is move to OWL, but that's just a suggestion.

You could use half cream and half water to avoid adding more carbs to it
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Is cream better to use than Half & Half? I don't really remember right off the top of my head, but if cream is better to use, then I'll use that!

And Elizellen, you are such an inspiration! You look so great and all of your posts are very insightful!!

Isopure Zero Carb comes in creamy vanilla and has zero carbs, 1g fat and no sugar save sucralose. It tastes just great mixed with water. I can't imagine how great it would be with cream. It is primarily used as a lean protein supplement, at 210 cals per 50g protein. I find it works great to feed my tired muscles immediately after a workout. Give it a shot when you are due for a new can of powder. It is especially important if you had added weight training to your routine, as the protein is easily and quickly absorbed and prevents you from cannibalizing any muscle tissue you've gained due to the nature of the diet.
