        Hi there!

Did you try talking to your mom? Explain her you are doing Atkins and why you would like to lose weight. I'm sure she'll understand and try to keep you away from the cake.

          Re: cheating

The problem is that each time you eat a bite of that cake, you will stir up all the cravings again and it will be harder to resist carbs in the future.

You need to go cold turkey and step away from the cake Ask your Mum to hide it and not make another one.

Think how much better you will feel when you drop a dress size... it will feel much better than three minutes eating cake xx

            thanks everybody!
i just stopped eating it eventhough it's just sitting there screaming "eat me, eat me" ...
so...for 2 weeks of extended induction i have lost 1 kilo. I am a bit discouraged but I read somewhere in the forum that weeks 3 and 4 usually there is a stall and then off you go again!(maybe it said something else but I prefer to understand it like that!!!)

Glad you're back on track. I hope you can devise some plan to avoid this from happening next time -- that's how we learn to be successful in the long term.

Yeah, but that assumes no cheating has taken place. You might have to start induction again from scratch, iow you need to start back up and stay on it for 2 more weeks before that post-induction stall might kick in...

                sorry to be the messenger...
somebody who knows better I am sure will correct me soon though.

                  Re: cheating

I call these slippery slopes and many people will work hard following the Induction plan but then "reward" themselves with a treat of some sort. The problem with the slippery slopes is the fall can be hard and one can slide a long way before picking themselves up and brushing themselves off and restarting.

They call this a Way of Life for a reason. It isn't just about vanity pounds. For many it is life changing and young or old, it can be a blueprint for life.

                    Re: cheating

The sugar consumption of the first piece of cake results in more sugar cravings! I'm glad you haven't completely given up and started binging- GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT FOR THAT! But you will have to choose between weight loss and cake... which one is it going to be? Choose wisely!
