I'VE BEEN CONTROLLING CARBS/ SINCE JANUARY, AND I'VE NOTICED THAT WHEN I TAKE A SUPPLEMENT MY WEIGHT LOSS STOPS, BUT WHEN I STOP TAKING IT FOR A FEW DAYS I DROP ANYWHERE FROM 4-7LBS---WHY IS THIS? :confused

I TAKE ONE A DAY CARB SMART WITH NO IRON.

    :wave Hi!!

Probably because many OTC vitamins have fillers in them: corn starch, food starch, etc. Even sugar! You really should read your CarbSmart label and see exactly what kind of fillers you are getting (also caffiene is a problem, too.). And even though they are a bit expensive, you really outta try the Atkins vitamins. They are really good and Dr. A wanted them formulated to be exactly what they say they are---natural without sugars and fillers.

You know what? I just got a chance to come back and see your reply (comp. down a few days with virus hubby downloaded by mistake---grrrrr~!) I can see three problems with your vitamins! Did you see them? here they are: Glucose, corn starch, and Dextrose :yikes

Glucose and Dextrose is sugar! Anything ending is -ose is likely a sugar. Gluscose is what your muscles store and use to turn to fat and what your induction uses to burn off for ketones. So basically, you are re-eating glucose that you are trying to burn off with induction. That is why you stalled on CarbSmart vitamins. Here is a list of sugars to look out for; in vitamins and food:

          Glucose
          Dextrose
          Sucrose
          Lactose
          Fructose
          Maltose
          Malt
          Molasses

          and the obvious:

          Sugar
          Raw sugar
          Brown sugar
          Corn sweetener
          Corn syrup
          Fruit juice concentrate
          High-fructose corn syrup
          Honey

Take your vitamins back to Walmart and tell them you are unhappy with the product. They should take them back.

              good for you.

there are other oses in your vit too that you might want to go a little investigating into. Since they had so little of the product you might want to look at the candida forum and see if maybe your vits oses were feeding them.
So what are you taking now?

                NOTHING YET!

NOTHING YET! I'M TRYING TO FIND THE BEST THING TO TAKE. SOMEONE ON ADBB TOLD ME THAT WALMART ALSO CARRIES ATKINS MULTI-VITAMINS, BUT I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK FOR THEM YET. GUESS I WILL GO SOMETIME THIS WEEK AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIND. IF I CAN'T FIND WHAT I NEED, I WILL HAVE TO ORDER SOME OFF THE NET.

                ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I buy my Atkins at Walmart, they're the cheapest in my town at least there. I've ordered them for less online, but unless you get a really good deal, shipping just eats in to that savings.

Thank you so much for posting this! I went to check my vitamins and found starch and corn starch. My vitmin C also has corn starch. I never would have thought to check.

I guess I'll be buying the Atkins vitamins too.

I don't get it?!!! If it has all that sugar in it, why in the world would they call it carb smart?? I'd be calling the vitamin company, not Walmart. I hate when manufacturers mislead us!

                        Kay-

It's all about the $$$...Everyone wants to cash in on the low carb craze...But we know it is a lifestyle...while they think it is a fad. (and I guess for some folks it is) That is why manufacturers make and market these products knowing little to NOTHING about low carbing.....They just wanna make a buck!

                        *Sigh* Sad but true

I'm glad you posted this. I'm taking One a Day for Women along with the Super B-Complex supplement with Vitamin C. I have Cellulose in both of them. Cornstarch in the other and some Dextrose. I guess I will have to give them to my teenager. Atkins vitamins also from DANDR breakdown of them are Super Vitamins. Oh well for now I'll be making that trip to Walmart too.

My other vitamins seem to be fine, but I've started taking fish oil recently and I've been feeling really bloated and yucky since I've started taking them. These supp's contain: fish oil concentrate, gelatin, glycerin, d-sorbiton, d-alpha tocopherol.

The big two I'm worried about are gelatin and glycerin. Are those safe? I'm getting freaked out. My wedding is in a week and a half and I just feel so bloated.

I have been taking the One-a-Day Carbsmart from day one( Aug.) and have lost lots of weight(80lbs.)with no pause. Have not strayed from the plan that I know of. DH has also been taking them and reached goal very soon.

Before you throw them away check and see if it could be something else stalling you.
