    Help!! PMS... craving snacks!

I have been at this induction thing for about a week now. I have not deviated from the rules except for 3 glasses of wine over the weekend which did not affect my ketostix. Oh yes, and I have had some diet soda, as well. I have lost 4 pounds and one inch in the waist. This is fairly encouraging except that now, I just want to eat something other than meat or cheese. Can I have an "atkins" peanut butter cup...some sugar free pudding, even a teaspoon of sugar free syrup...anything? I am allergic to eggs so anything with eggs, is out. I would love some suggestions/advice.

Ok, first off...the ketostix are useless for several days after you've consumed alcohol. They will give you a false positive result. In fact, your body won't burn all that fat you ate all day long after you drink alcohol. It will burn the alcohol until it's all gone and then go back to true lipolysis. You're wasting money using the stix after you drink. Honestly, you've already gone from a clean induction to an unclean induction. I don't think you want to go any deeper into that, do you?

No peanut butter cups, no sugar free pudding, no diet drinks, no sugar free syrup. You need to find legal foods to fill up with. You never once mentioned vegetables in your post. Are you eating any? Dill pickles are terrific for sweet cravings because the brain doesn't know the difference between dill and sweet. Make sure it doesn't have added sugar!! Some even have high fructose corn syrup. Check the label!!

I'm giving you a link to what I munch on when I need a snack. It also helps me get my veggies in. Ignore the egg related suggestions.

Oh great. I thought I was being clever because I read that one should drink wine with meals as it blocks carb absorption. I assumed that even if I didn't eat any carbs, it would still be a good thing. So since I screwed up on the clean induction, does this mean this week doesn't count, and I have to do this for 2 more weeks??!! I am definitely eating veggies. More than I have ever had on a daily basis in my life. Mostly spring greens, romaine, cucumbers and cauliflower. A bit of broccoli and asparagus, too. Can I ever have a glass of milk again? I really miss it? Thank you for the snack ideas.

Mothergoose, I'm gonna have to move you in here, aren't I? NO MILK. I'm sorry to break your heart. There is a time for the dairy rung but you're not there yet. If I were you, I'd probably do a clean 2 week induction. You may not be willing to do that. We need info. What's your start weight, your current weight, goal weight and height? Give us that and we can give you more info. Have you read the book??

I am waiting for the book to come via amazon, I am trying to get as much info as possible via you guys (and this site is so amazingly helpful). I am 37 years old I am 5'1 and about 117 pounds. Before you laugh, keep in mind that I have a very tiny frame (size 3 shoes). For most of my adult life, and even after 2 pregnancies I never weighed more than 105. My most recent pregnancy, (and an "almost 40" metabolism have cause me to gain steadily. I would rather get things under control now, than when I hit 130 pounds. None of my clothes fit, I have a visible tummy and love handles, and even the dreaded back fat. I haven't had any luck with my dieting efforts because I just end up feeling lethargic, weak, and oh so hungry. I suppose I will start over if thats what you think i need to do. It would be really nice to go to the pool with my kids this summer

I'm soooo glad you bought the book! Great! Four pounds in a week isn't bad at all for someone with so little to lose! The most important thing though is to do a clean induction. That will give you the best foundation for the rest of your life!! Have you read all of the induction stickies and threads? Lots of info there that you can't be without!!
