I am doing Atkins for the second time around and it has been years since my first attempt. I practically lived off of the shakes and "chocolate" bars then. My cravings for carbs at that time never went away. I think the convenience products had much to do with that! This time I am doing Atkins 100% by the book. It is too important for me to play around with severe obesity any longer!!! My carb cravings lasted until about the 5th or 6th day of induction, but the good news is that they did go away. I am actually learning what it is to feel full, and not just what it is to stop eating because I have eaten my fair portion. 
The only bad side of this is my hesitation to go onto OWL. Induction feels safe. I like not having carb-cravings.
I need to lose a lot, so I am planning on staying on induction for more than the required 2 weeks, but I know OWL will be necessary at some point down the road. As the weeks go on and this new WOL becomes habit, I will be better able to decide when is right for me.
