  • Week 4 and slowing down

    Hiya,
Im just beginning the 4th week of my diet (staying on induction until the end of this week)

Ive just been having tescos version of an atkins shake for breakfast every morn after the gym, chicken salad for lunch with egg and cheese at work and then any cut of meat with ALOT of low carb veg such as mangetout, green beans, baby corn, spinach, broccoli etc. Ive managed to loose 13lb up to now in 3 weeks however the weight loss has slowed down considerably.

Since doing this diet i have felt fab! i dont crave any carbs at all, even crisps, which used to be my fave food!

Is there anything i can do to keep up the weight loss now? Im not sure really how to begin adding more carbs into my diet without totally stopping the weight loss. I actually dont want to eat the carbs with a meal anymore.

Re: Week 4 and slowing down

    Hi Emma

I moved this post into its own thread as it seemed to have been overlooked in the other one.

Welcome to our ADBB family and congratulations on those 13 pounds gone already

I guess you are from the UK as you mentioned not missing crisps. Good to have another Brit on board

How many more pounds are you looking to shed? Staying on induction is not always the answer to continuing to lose weight fast, as many of our members discover.

You might see your losses speed up if you move to OWL now and start adding carbs in the form of more veg (rung 1), milk products (rung 2), nuts (rung 3) and berries (rung 4). You can then stay at that level of OWL till you find your CCLL if you don't want to try the higher carb fruits, starchy veg and grains.

In fact, looking at you post where you said
any cut of meat with ALOT of low carb veg such as mangetout, green beans, baby corn, spinach, broccoli
I bet you have in fact been eating at rung 1 level of OWL anyway, as most people would not call up to 3 cups of veg in a whole day as allowing 'a lot' of veg in one meal

BTW - corn is a rung 9 addition as corn is a grain. However if you have been including them already while losing weight it might be that your CCLL is going to be fairly high, which is a good thing
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

think about adding the right carbs. Some will cause you to slow and some wont. Try taking out corn and eating your veggies through out the day.
