I went on this diet 4 years ago and lost 40 lbs in 3 months. I am doing exactly the same things I was then and no weight loss. I really enjoy this diet because you can actually eat I just wish I would see some results. I don't even think I'm losing inches. My clothes feel the same. I'm not going to give up yet though.

Re: 29 days on induction and no weight loss
Not yet. but here it is now. I usually have a small salad with ranch dressing. 2 pieces of baked chicken and maybe 4 eggs. I can't post everything that I eat because I make sure I change it up a lot so that I dont get tired of the same foods. But I do know that I am not going over the 20 carbs. I have been in ketosis since day 3. I also know that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid.

I think it would good if you could post everything you eat.
Small items of things could trip you up so it is important to get those down.
If you wary pick a couple of days and post exactly what you ate and drank those days.

Re: 29 days on induction and no weight loss
Is that for one meal? If so it sounds like you might be overeating. You are only supposed to eat until your hunger is satisfied, then stop. It does not matter if there is food left on your plate or carbs in your budget. Also that is enough protein for a whole day. If you are having protein at other meals as well, that could be your problem. Excess protein converts to glucose. I hope this helps.Originally posted by prissypantz View PostI usually have a small salad with ranch dressing. 2 pieces of baked chicken and maybe 4 eggs.Jim

Re: 29 days on induction and no weight loss
Thank you for your help. That meal I posted is for the whole day. The only thing I know to do is go off the diet for a day and then start again. I have ordered L-carnitine pills like the book suggests because all I can figure out is that I'm totally metobolically resistant. I'm so frustrated because this diet is very easy for me to do. I had decided that this time around I was really going to make it a lifestyle change for me but if I can't get the scales to move I guess I will have to stick to counting calories which I hate more than anything.

Good luck - don't give up!
Wouldn't the small salad qualify as the 3 cups though?

That would depend on what was in it.Originally posted by rifleman View PostWouldn't the small salad qualify as the 3 cups though?
Many people find it better to spread their allowed 3 cups of veggies throughout the day to spread any possible 'blood sugar spikes' from the carbs in them.
Though if all you are having in the salad is 3 cups of lettuce that won't be much in the way of carbs
BUT if that is all the veg carbs you are eating (2.9 net carbs according to fitday.com for 3 cups of shredded lettuce) then if you are going to stick to the rulethat will limit any other carbs - eggs/cream/cheese/sweetener - to less than that, meaning you will have a very boring limited choice of other foodsEat no more than 20 grams a day of carbohydrate, most of which must come in the form of salad greens and other vegetables.

Choosing other veg with more carbs would mean you have more flexibility with your menus as well as getting more nutrition from your veggiesWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
